Some major bug fixes such as AI upgrading, Capital ship weapons range, corvette speed... etc...
Wing Commander Invasion 2.7 Changelog
- Power C
Some major bug fixes:
- Fix all faction upgrades, so they're appropriately matched to their ship type. Created upgrades for Niphilims.
- AI will now also upgrade! (If you want this for the regular game, look for my EAW/FOC mini mod!)
- Increase the weapons range of all Gen 5 ships. Doubling them in most instances.
- Increase all movement speed of corvettes.
- Added AI lua script to abilities like interdict, clusterbomb, missle shield etc..
- Fix fighters HUNT ability
- Hobbes' ZhuFeng's "full salvo" changed to "defend," since Zhu Feng has no missle hardpoints!
- Changed splash load screen to 1920x1080. If you are running a lower resolution, simply replace splash.dds with "splash old.dds" in the art\texture folder.
- removed lamprey's reveal since it doesn't work.
As promised, here are the links to the EAW and FOC minimod, which includes lua script AI that will research upgrades:

FOC: Moddb.com
They're both on the same page now: Moddb.com
Does it still work just in skirmish mode?
Yeah, unfortunately this is just a skirmish mod. The original creator, maxpayne, has moved on to other things and stopped working on it. I'm not really modding it, I'm just playing it b/c I love it. These updates are just things I find that needs fixing.
However, for the next update, I am thinking about cleaning up the galactic mode. Basically if you play in galactic mode now, it is a combination of Star Wars units with Wing Commander units. I'm going to clean up the Star Wars units so you can play all the galactic games with just the Wing Commander units.
But that would be the extent of it. Land mode skirmishes will still be Star Wars units. It will simply let you play galactic mode with just Wing Commander space units.
About the splash screen:
EAW/FOC can only stretch the splash, but it can't shrink it. This is why the original splash was 1024x768 and it will stretch to whatever resolution you are playing. The problem with this is of course, if you stretch it it becomes blurry.
I think most people can run 1920x1080 these days, but there are still plenty running 1600x1200 or 1366x768. Since the new splash is in 1920x1080, if you are running on a lower resolution, it simply won't load it. In the instructions, I recommended simply delete the new splash.dds and replace it with the old one.
However, if you still like the new splash and want it for a lower resolution, you can simply use a photo editor of some kind (I use Adobe Photoshop) and shrink the new splash to your resolution. Then simply save it as a dds file and it will load.
Does this just update the mod or is this the full deal just updated?
