If you have never worked with an "autoexec.cfg" file under any 'idTech' engine, for 'Quake' - put the extracted file inside your "id1" folder. The game, will automatically initiate the script upon start.
Custom keybindings, as following - per function:
Screenshot mode:
"[" brings: weapon model, crosshair, HUD, FPS counter (if not present)
"]" removes: weapon model, crosshair, HUD, FPS counter (if present)
"\" removes: FPS counter only
In screenshot mode exclusively (clear screen), "TAB" is a screenshot trigger
Crosshair image:
"+" increase size
"-" decrease size
Keys in numpad area
Quick-axe:
"MOUSE2" commences rapid switch to an axe weapon, with simultaneous attack
"Noclip" function:
"BACKSPACE" toggles free movement mode, allowing to bypass map geometry
Vid restart with VSync:
The asterisk symbol in numpad area commences display restart with VSync enabled, useful in VSync misfire
Weapon bindings - compatible with "WSAD" movement keyset:
"1" rifle
"2" 2-barrel shotgun
"3" nailgun
"4" perforator
"r" howitzer
"e" rocket launcher
"q" thunderbolt
Here's a tip: Change alias -quickaxe "-attack" to alias -quickaxe "-attack; impulse 12;" so when you quickaxe it will switchback to the previous weapon you were using
Thanks, I uploaded it because I thought some people considered the thing problematic in 'Quake' to reposition the gun model, while apparently it can be done without much of nuance all things considered, still maintaining some flexibility and tweakability.
