Version 1.11 of the Victoria II: Supernations Mod.
CHANGELOG: 6/3/2020 [Version 1.11]
- Edited decision, event, and localization files for anything that mentioned Emperor Meiji in the Greater Japanese Campaign storyline to say Emperor Myokogein instead.
- Added an event that fires in 1867 of Emperor Meiji falling ill. The player can choose to either send for the bet physicians, and save him. Or they can let him die. Letting him die allows the 'fictional' younger brother of Emperor Meiji, Emperor Myokogein (named after the firstborn of Emperor Komei who died in his infancy) to ascend to the throne. For the storyline Emperor Myokogein is more of a visionary with ambitions to make a Greater Japan. This helps tie the storyline to more of an ahistorical setting without becoming a bit to farfetched when transforming the character of Emperor Meiji.
- Edited the 'Form Greater Japanese Empire' decision, to also require the country flag - "ascent_of_myokogein" on order to be an available decision. This mean that in order to form the Greater Japanese Empire, one needs to have let Emperor Meiji die, and have Emperor Myokogein as the Emperor.
NOTE: Thank you for the feedback given to the mod thus far. I am pleasantly surprised at the interest it seems to have generated.
NOTE2: The reason I went for an ahistorical Emperor Myokogein, is because while considering this particular condition, I was debating whether or not to actually make it so that Emperor Meiji's older brother didn't actually die as an infant. However, that would mean that he would have been chosen as an heir rather than his younger brother, Emperor Meiji. As a result I simply went for making a fictional 'younger brother' to Emperor Meiji. You can think of it as simply Emperor Komei (Who only had one surviving son, and several daughters) having had another son, instead of perhaps another daughter. I also shifted the timeline just so slightly. So! I hope this makes the experience a bit more believable. :)
