This "Mini" update brings game-play changes and bug fixes to balance the game out a little (hopefully). Ally AI is the Highlight of the show here!
Weapon Changes :
MK2 PR sound fixed, Ammo 40/60 better balance
Recoil changes to most rifles, more direct vertical movement and less left/right switching
Small Damage balance on Assault, SMG and Service Pistol
Small adjustments to weapon holding positions to lessen the oddities
General Ally AI Changes :
Shooting delays and wait times removed from dynamic events
'push' and 'pull' tethering to the player along with distance to avoid players adjusted to try and make them more useful and spread out more
Usage of blind-fire and cover-switching increased
Visual cone opened up slightly at close range
Provocation (ally help) increased for close ranged Xenos
Ally AI vs Xeno Changes :
Base weapon damage increases as distance decreases. At point-blank this is 1 hit kill guaranteed for AI.Makes them useful!
Greater priority to close-to-them xenos
Don't let "mini" fool you. The changes to the Allies is quite extensive and really makes them alot better. Just try out the Gravity Well Scene. O'neil saves your butt alot!*

Hi everytime I kill the Xenomorfh they disappear. It is possible to fix that?
The files in your My Documents have not been setup. re-run the installer for v4 then patch to v4.5
Check the installation log that comes up and make sure your my documents was setup
Hi! Havent been playing ACM since it was released. Installed v4 and v4.5 and continued my earlier save-game. Game look fantastic now! I decided to start a whole new game from the beginning and everythings just fine but when I cut Keys down and follow him to search flight recorder, game crashes, every time. Any advice?
As a reply to myself, found solution from these topics, just restarted a new game and now it run just fine!
I'm afraid O'Neil's behaviour is not any better hehe. He is still not folowing sometimes and i have to restart checkpoints, not shooting when it's needed (but starting shooting when is too late hehe)...
Oh, i forgot of one more thing: game keeps reseting my video settings at start. It is not a big problem, but have to go and change them everytime i launch ACM. Any solution?
Something I noticed: The sliders for the graphics settings are out-of-bounds to the left. I'm not sure if the settings are actually being reset or the slider bars are just bugged. Can you confirm that this is happening to you? Can you actually see a difference in graphics quality when the sliders are in this state versus when you drag them all the way to the right every time you launch the game?

Hmmm...there is no ammo for the Hudson PR or the Hicks Shotgun, dosen´t matter wich level, SP or MP. Is this normal in this mod? Or a bug? It would be nice to found some ammo for these weapons. ^^
Yeah I get that too! Used to on the 360 version years ago, I guess it's an issue with the game rather than the mod
Hopefully V5's changes to how ammo spawns will fix this. never seen this myself
I don´t like the MK2. Thats why I use the Hudson PR (MK1), on V 4.5
In the meantime I play V4 with the pecangame.upk from V3. ^^
Ok, its not your mod. When I started a new game, ammo comes along. But it´s extremly rare. Sometimes I only get 3 Bullets for the MK1. It makes the game more interesting, when you running out of ammo.^^

i am unfortunately having a crash everytime at the beginning of the game after i free keys with the soldering unit and get with him in the next room after killing the xenomorph, solutions ?

I got this too on V3.
Try to start a new game. That fixed the problem for me on V3.

I'm using Master Effects (Ultra) and when i switch between on and off (F7) my frames drop a lot in ultra mode. I'm running the game with a GTX970
Ultra is really for stills. Or idiotic computers. High is the best settings at acceptable performance, Ultra is at the best settings with the highest allowed values all-round
I'm also experiencing crashes during launch. What do you mean by needing to be patched to the latest official version? I have auto updates enabled on Steam.
ACM was not a steam exclusive so some have disc or digital versions from elswhere.
Some people have reported that going to install_folder\Binaries\Win32\ and deleting D3D9.DLL (Master Effect binary) fixed this issue. so if you've been trying a while, try this!
You have no chice to install the retail version. Steam is always updating the game to 1.40, even when auto updates are disabeld. You can´t even start the retail game by going offline. ACM need a online verification for the first time.
The only way to play the DVD / retail version is, to use a cracked version
Just a heads up on a potential bug. In version 4 with the fix for constant restarts applied, the game randomly crashes. Upon deleting the file the game works no problem but the dreaded restart glitch is back.
Also I think I read this somewhere but can't seem to find it now. Is there a fix for the settings in game so I don't have to keep cranking everything up every time I boot the game?

"Aliens:Colonial Marines is no longer responding" error and crashes to desktop.
Beyond this let me know what else I can report cause I honestly don't know what to do beyond that.
PS Your mod has erased all my crushed feelings about this game. I don't know how you feel about this or if its even possible but I kind of wish the MK2 sounded like Hudson's pulse rifle. Always thought the other sounded blah. Oh and maybe suggest to the community not to forget to listen to Harry Rabinowitz' Aliens Combat Drop sequence and of course all the rest of the James Horner soundtrack. It doesn't sync up all the time but about 80% of the time its does and its awesome lol.
Make a clean install over Steam and install the mod again.

Regarding your comment above for the graphics settings bars, understood. However, what about FOV, VSync...or the other settings in that same menu. What can we change and what should we not change?

Start a new game after you installed a new mod version. Resume Camapaigne causes crashes with the Templar Mods.
For. the resatart bug, set the ACM.exe to "start as admin". Done
Jamesdickinson963 is right! Ignore the settings. It´s all cranked up OVER the max! Thats why it looks a bit confusing.
The sound issue is...don´t know. I don´t like the PR sound at all. It´s not like in the movie or all the other games. I allready tried to change the sound, but I can´t bring the sound_bar into the right file format.
Thanks for all your help guys. I also forgot to make one more suggestion and thats for the Sentry Guns to sound like they did in the movie. That would be badass!!!

Hi, first off, this mod is amazing! The reason I'm commenting though is because I get a message at the top left of my screen while playing, which says "reshade (version #) by crossfire" & "compiling effect... Failed". Now, the mod seems to be working fine as far as I can tell, I just cant make that message go away! Really breaks the immersion with the no hud option :( Is there any way to simply disable the message and still use the mod?

did you use other injectors in the past, like sweet fx,enb or maybe reshade itself? If yes, delet the old files, copy + paste the mastereffect files and folder into the Win32 folder were the ACM.exe is.
When this dosen´t work, make a new install of ACM over steam and install the TemplarGFX Mod(s) via installer or copy + paste (manuel).

Is there a way to turn the hud or at least parts of it back on? I cant see what key/button I'm supposed to press during QTE events.
This is my problem with it too. i like the no hud look but you absolutely need the input queues for QTE. Also, it would be much more helpful if you could kill the hud but still have the waypoints show up on the screen when you have the motion tracker up.
Unfortunately as all of these on-screen items are tied to the same graphical layer, i don't think they could be separated without more serious code changes.

I have just read all 1036 posts on the steam TemplarGFX thread. Great job, BUT!
What most fans know is that, apart from the glitchy vanilla (and even 1.4.0.) release of the game, Gearbox actually made another massive mess.
They created a parallel universe with the Technical Manual.
Aliens: Colonial Marines Technical Manual is a manual by Lee Brimmicombe-Wood which is considered by all parties (Ridley Scott, James Cameron) to be the canon in terms of the weapons, tactics, equipment and strategy of the Aliens Universe.
The Technical Manual is a free download on the internet, just search for Aliens Colonial Marines Technical Manual pdf.
Gearbox themselves (WANTED) to stay canon with the ACM-TM but for whatever reason couldn't.
So there is now a parallel world (which isn't really that parallel.)
The M42A Scope rifle (as described in the ACM-TM) now became the M4RA Battle rifle. Looks near enough the same, same rof, but diffeent name. They did that with most of the weapons. Just look at the explosives and grenade names in the ACM-TM, all so similar to the game, changed for no reason other than liability.
If at all possible this mod should address this very basic (and evident) eye-sore in this game. The fact that these weapon names have become bastardized versions of actual canon equipment.
But not so the Pulse rifle mk2. The M41A mk2 (which is an incorrect armament designation, it should be called the M41A2) in game is actually a very different model from the original M41A seen in the movie (it features an ambidextrous cocking handle, it has a larger grip cutout for the under rifle attachment trigger guard, etc.)
The mk2 is for all intents and purposes simply a different weapon. So the 40/60 capacity makes sense. The rof should however be pulserifle standard (900rpm), there is no logical reason to drop the rof to 450rpm. The rof increase option should (obviously) change the sound and increase it to just below smartgun level.
What this game needed was a better (bassier) pulse rifle sound (for the unupgraded weapon), and a bassier sound for that current lawnmower sound the rof upgrade makes.
I love the work you put into this, but as I said as a true fan you owe it to yourself to own the ACM-TM, its a free download nowadays!

Just google image search the original concept art for Aliens Colonial Marines weapons, all the concept art has the canon names but was changed afterwards.

Ps: what was that glitch, I forgot? In the Raven level you could do something and the boilers would cause you no damage even when you bumped into them. What was that?

This update breaks gun placement. The main mod shifts gun placement so you can see more of your weapon. I think they forgot to include that improvement with this update, sadly.

Just an extra thing to note: Overall, I'm very happy with this mini update(thank you! ^_^ ) but on bits where you have to set up a sentry gun - protecting an ammo stash in Hadley's and where you make your last stand in a vehicle bay - the game cannot continue because the xenos don't show up at all, or only a single wave will appear.
Other than that, I'm now enjoying the game once again. Cheers!
