Have you found a fix for that? I've been playing for 15 days(ingame) and maxed rep with all factions without joining any (mercs died btw only one I did not get rep with) I got 9k xp which means max level even tho I did not choose any perks and I can't get any companions.
Instal game using the setup file. Then unpack the fix1, stalker damage and missing strings files provided and drop the gamedata folder in your game's directory. Overwrite if prompted. Lastly, unpack and do the same with this file (fix3).
Would someone explain to me how to fix the fact that I can't have loners as companions? I have 15 days ingame time and 9000 xp which granted me all the "perks" even tho I did not choose any of them before I got to 9000 I also have max reputation possible with all factions but mercenaries because they died and they never captured a base. This patch is amazing because I barely crash but the fact that I can't get a companion being a LONER (NOT TALKING about defiance) is sad.
I have the same problem,when I want to take Ant from Depot as my companion he told me I need to became loner or friend with loners which I did but still he don't want to join me,always telling me the same thing above.I guess latest patch prevent to have more than one companion because before patch 3 I could take Ant and one more companion from faction with me,now Ant is obviously unavailable.
No faction selection menu friend. You start in the bloodsucker village. Follow the mission, and a squad will lead you to any faction base you want. Once there, you need to talk with the faction leader, do missions for them, and once you are trustworthy you can join. Mercs can be joined inmediately.
Nice would be if you would add some consumable animations but what I really ******* want is to deactivate the ******* script responsible for making important characters disappear
I hate to raid a bandit base later to see that the leader disappeared by a magic escape
when we should have caught him, killed him or make him a hostage

quest: join faction or be a loner(something like this) never ends now.
You don't join the loners. You are considered a loner if you aren't in a faction. The real "loner" faction is Defiance.
Sorry dude but "Patch Notes.txt" tells me:

- Prevented becoming a loner from cancelling the 'Join a faction' missions - there's no longer a deadline.

so hey let me fill you to you join loners you need to wait a certain time like 5 or 7 days to become a loner

You must go up in rank by at least ONE rank.

Bro if u do some missions for loners and have 2 or 3 bars of how much they like you, you instanlty became loner

I don't know if there are any "loner" companions, but it kinda makes sense that you can't walk around with faction companions.
there is a loner named ant in garbage depot before patch 3 we could make him companion, with patch 3 no matter what you do he will not join.
please fix
the loner is a faction made by nobody
what loner means is that everybody has its own business so sharing the loot is not for them

Can confirm with patch 3 you can't become a loner. Even with a month of ingame time and max xp, the companion ant in garbage depot wont join.
I mean, you are a loner by default, right? You meant that companions are not available for loners?

i only start with a ******* bolt and a merc suit WHERES THE FACTION SELECTION MENU

the mod is abandoned the only salvation is that someone takes over the mod again
I still can't neither take missions from both traders and others.
It just ####### crashes.
