The Second Expansion to Abysm2: Infernal Contract is here!
Abysm 2: Spirit Falcon is an Expansion for the GZDoom mod Abysm 2: Infernal Contract. Includes a new singleplayer Campaign with new Weapons, Monsters and Quests.
The Prized possession of the leader of the Satsuma Clan, The Spirit Falcon, has been stolen by the Rival Yanagi Clan.
Nadia, Mercenary of Iron and Demon Slayer of Hadria, travels to the Kingdom of Kiyoshi and is tasked to recover the stolen heirloom so it may be returned to its rightful owner.
What dangers does the Yanagi territory hide?
Before Playing be sure you have the latest version of Abysm 2: Infernal Contract available HERE
also I recommend to not load this alongside other mods so that things don't break.
HOW TO RUN
• Spirit Falcon requires the Latest version Abysm 2: Infernal Contract and atleast GZDoom 4.2.4 or above to run.
• You will need to load the Expansion – Spirit Falcon.pk3 AFTER Abysm 2 - Infernal Contract.pk3, using a Launcher of your choice.
You may also select both files and then Drag and Drop Abysm 2: Infernal Contract.pk3 to GZDoom.exe to ensure it is loaded First Before the expansion.
• If it loads successfully you will see a New Green Title Screen with no Errors.
Feedback and Suggestion during the public Beta is highly encouraged and will help makes this a better product for final release.
Expansion Features:
- Completely new campaign with an Overworld map, 5 Questline Dungeons and 5 Optional Dungeons.
- New Starting Equipment, the Dragoon’s set and the Thief's Set.
- New Weapons and Upgrades for existing Weapons.
- New Spells and Rings
Music will be composed by cast of talented and creative people, including industry legend Lee Jackson.
Primeval, Eric Freeman, Ward Hale, Harrison Engstrom, Velvetic, Immorpher, Luke Jansen and Lee Jackson all lend their creative minds to compose the music for the mod.
Heya, so happy to see this already in beta! Just a question, what kind of state is it in? All areas complete, only some? Just so I have an idea of what's what before jumping in to do some testing :)Sorry if you already talked about this, I can't see any mention of the state in beta in the Zdoom post or this post. Again, love your stuff and so excited to jump in and see if I can find some obscure bugs ;)
Areas in this are finished. The beta is mostly here for Balancing and Bug fixing, but the game is 100% beatable.
Just finished the second expansion as a thief set on normal difficulty, no double damage amulet (again) and level 10 in a few hours. It became a fantastic experience, as much I enjoyed Pharaoh's Judgement V1.1, this one is a no exception with it's unique theme, and world setting. Surprisingly enough, It really feels like an inspiration from Alpha/Beta and Retail of Classic Shadow Warrior which it fits fine in the end. On the difficulty side, it's definitely an improvement from the 1st expansion, the enemy variety got better, some of them are pretty unique and they do sometimes provide some sort of challenge here and there.
With that being said, here are 3 issues I found during the 1st playthrough:
-After getting the final weapon part from Shaded Village and upon entering Satsuma Castle, there's this message: P_StartScript: Unknown script "fugitiviemove"
-A little grammar issue in the first sentence of the last dialogue with Traveler Satsuki before ending the game, "I'll will escort you to your ship."
-In Yanagi Castle level, somehow 2 sentinels on the 3rd small pillar from left to right that is close to the castle's entrance get stuck together.
Perhaps I'll find out more issues in second playthrough later but that's all I discovered for now.
I am very glad that the mod is not only good but also constantly updated.
Very impressive, a samurai like theme now eh ? Reminds me of Shadow Warrior for some reason LOL.
I enjoyed your Abysm series a lot but if there is 1 huge difference from the other mods, is that this one is quite heavy in graphics. I don't have a potato PC but still is heavy, even if I disable a dozens of graphical options, it will still have some minor lag.
My request to you if that is possible, is to create a pk3/wad file that you can play the game with lighter textures or vise versa, create a HD Texture file.
PS: Also the water is too colorful, that I can barely see where I am swimming.
Would be so cool if Abysm: Dawn of Innocence become a "Remastered" Expansion Pack for Abysm 2: Infernal Contract!!!
I had considered that a few times, Might be a good idea for a future expansion
Now I'm even more hyped! xD
Abysm 2 is really awesome!
Great job!.
Thank you :D
Is this work on Gzdoom 3.8.2?
How close is this to a final release?
The huge bow only does either 120, or 240, or 360 damage. Something wrong with its RNG coding?
It's a 1d3 random damage for the weapons, just like in regular doom.
