Description

Balance changes made to aircraft, superheavy and heavy vehicles, building HP and AA units. Certain AA units increased in price and buffed to reflect real-world capabilities All paratroopers now have recon ability to set them apart from their standard military counterparts. This was done to reflect the reality of their historical use as well as maintain relevance in the game. Please read the read me file for additional change notes and as always, if you have any feedback, please leave it so that I may consider and make appropriate changes to improve the mod!

I havve a bug where both the wolverine mg and the vickers MG is not firing bullets nor a sound when firing on the enemy even thouigh the enemy infantry ios taking damage. also mission a bridge too far the allied thunderbolts engages the enemy but doesnt destroy the enemy flak and stugs attacking the 82nd airborne in campaign therefore leaves you to take em out. was this intentional or a bug? thanks

Howdy, thanks for the comment! I have also noticed the MG issue. This is due to the weapon type in the game for MGs being rather picky about certain settings. I'll definitely keep trying to get it to display its effect.

As for the bridge too far mission, I believe that this was intentional by the developers. For certain campaign units, there is actually a separate unit in the code from the rest of the game. For example, on the very first mission, you've likely noticed the infantry does not have bazookas. Similarly, certain aircraft have been programmed to act a certain way during campaign. I haven't altered any of the scripted events just so that the progress of the cutscenes or campaign wasn't affected.

That is understandable but before I installed the mod and use the original the thunderbolts always destroys the units. With this mod installed it only gets them heavily damaged then recover quick. Also any idea why the american grassshopper recon aircraft is slower then the other recon aircraft?

Ah okay, then that definitely is the mod then. Something I can definitely change, though it may not be high up on the list.

As for the grasshopper, historically they possessed a measly 60HP engine, allowing a cruising speed of approximately 100mph from the research I gathered. Compare that to the storch, which actually received engine upgrades throughout the course of the war to make it more maneuverable. To balance this, rather than make them identical, I've lowered the price of the grasshopper, seeing as it would cost the United states nearly nothing to produce, transport, and deploy an ultralight recon aircraft with a tiny engine

That's understandable. Very good job regardless. Gives you a great challenge and changes up your tactics in the campaign on the hardest difficulty. If you dont mind me askin. What other plans do you have in mind for the mod

Well when my time allows, I am working to understand the files surrounding unit graphics and modeling. The first aspect of this relates to the MG issue you noticed with the Wolverine and Jackson. But beyond that, modifying and adding units which would give each faction an extra unit or two using models from other factions. For example, Germany has an 88mm flak and Italy the 90mm, but the UK also had a QL 3.7in gun of similar capabilities. The USSR had a 76mm mounted in a similar fashion, as did the US with a 90mm. Adding these would be fairly straightforward and easy (so I think). I would also like to give Italy some form of lend-lease German equipment to bolster their mediocre arsenal.

Besides that, I would like to understand the Python coding behind various maps etc to offer additional maps to the base skirmish game from the campaign. But I have zero experience in Python, so that will likely be slow going. Regardless, this is just a fun side project for me that I plan to work on for the next year or so

England, why do wellingon and speedfire, which were adopted in '38, need to be investigated, but the Airborne Forces, which were first used in 1941, not? Why is Malda, which was only used in 1941, is available without research? Why is an armored vehicle worth the price of a heavy tank? It has been said that there is an emphasis on historicism in fashion.
