Aiming for the stratosphere with more big changes (and more to come!). There's a new enemy that appears in this mod, burning barrels explode, another texture's been fixed, liquid clipping is improved and there's a new jump sound!
Buckle up. Version 11 takes it into high gear with Brutal Doom 64's Assault Rifle Zombies on every Deathmatch start (except for the one, like, right behind you when you start each level, because that would be cheap!). So I didn't have to modify any existing levels. You just fire up the mod and they'll be there, even in most custom maps! And they drop their assault rifle so you can add it to your arsenal! Since they use the same graphics as the Chaingunner, I replaced him with the Chaingunner from Outcast Levels, which SgtMarkIV also used in BD64.
This also adds DarkDoom Lite; DarkDoom is by TheUnBeholden, and it basically lowers light levels all over the place for a creepier atmosphere. It definitely adds to the challenge! And it really completes the look that was starting to take shape.
Burning barrels explode via the same Psychophobia effects that I used to modify existing barrel explosions, just minus a few layers. So they're not as dangerous, but they hurt.
Now everything will clip in liquids, not just the monsters--whereas even some of them were not up to par before. Barrels will be half-immersed, powerups will be nearly submerged...it's a brave new world!
I pulled the jump sound out of Complex Doom because I like it.
One more texture has been fixed so it's no longer stretched, and apparently I have many more still to work on.
Fixes are coming, and big things are in the works. Please give me your feedback, and feel free to use this as a base, make levels for it, make videos of it, whatever! It'll just encourage me to work harder.
