Description
The JKG Launcher is an update program used to get new content and patch your game, as well as adjust several game settings before entering the game (such as your resolution settings). Simply run the install wizard and install the launcher where you’d like. After installing the launcher, open it and click on the install button to download and install the game. Please keep in mind that you will need a copy of Jedi Academy installed on your computer so you can point the launcher to the base assets required by JKG. If further updates for the launcher or game are released, the Launcher should notify you and prompt you to update. JKG is currently in a beta as of this release. Please keep in mind that the game is not currently ready for stable play, and we've posted uploaded the launcher here for feedback and testing purposes. Note: As of August 1st, package downloads through the launcher have been disabled.

Awesome! I haven't played JKG for quite some time, and now there finally is the launcher again. Wow, how much I've missed this launcher music! I'd love to help test it.
Yeah, lightsabers are there, but the system is still under development, so don't expect much.
Hey everybody, I know some of you have had issues installing JKG, especially those who don't do so well with English. You may find this guide helpful: Jkgalaxies.com (especially since you can use google translate on it and it has pictures!)

When it is done. However, your launcher will keep up to date with new releases so just update it when it prompts you to.
More apologies. (Well at least I can say the beta test is going great since we're finding all the problems!) Our server ran out of bandwidth, evidently JKG is too popular. I should have a solution in place by August. Until then if you'd like to still install the mod you can download a direct install from our drop box alternative: Dropbox.com
If you've already installed, you unfortunately won't be able to use the JKGLauncher to launch the game. What you'll need to do in order to play is create a batch file with this:
jkgalaxies.x86.exe +set fs_cdpath "C:\program files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\"
fs-cdpath should point to wherever your Jedi Academy install is. Connect to the server by typing: /connect JKGSERVER.dyndns.dk
How do you create the file? Also can I use steam and steam apps instead of lucas arts becuase I have the steam version of JA
Just use a text editor such as notepad to create a text file. Then after you've done so, save it and rename the extension from .txt to .bat Make sure you place this batch file inside your GameData folder.
I'm pretty sure you can use Steam, but I don't have a steam copy to test it with so not positive. If you get stuck ask for help on our IRC, I think some of the other people have gotten it working on steam.

Can you give me more details? That almost sounds like you are trying to join a non-jkg server. Does /devmap jkg_ctf_bespin work?
I installed the JKG launcher and then it told me to choose a place to put it, I put it inside jedi academy in steam, was I supposed to do that BTW? And then it took me to the launcher and I clicked inStall and it said something's wrong with the packaging, but how and where do you launch the server? Do you have to go into jedi academy and launch from there?
The launcher currently doesn't work because we're out of bandwidth. If you want a LAN server make a batch file that does something like this: "
jkgalaxiesded.x86.exe +set dedicated 1 +exec server.cfg"

Is there other files I can download for JKG? Cause the direct link for me to download it is not found, and the launcher doesn't work when I install!

when i click on button install it will write me this- A problem ocured while contacting the update server: Host update.jkgalaxies.com not found.
What i can do to fix it??

We've just been on hiatus for a bit. The latest version was just put out today actually: Jkhub.org We'll be updating the moddb page eventually, but right now we're just putting news on JKHUB.
I have the same problem as SmileyLP. I can't install the game because the launcher is telling me "update.jkgalaxies.com not found" if I press install. What do I need to do in order to solve the problem?
Hi, we no longer use the launcher at this time (maybe at a future date), for now just download the binaries, assets, and maps seperately. You can find those here on the files section or you can go to www.jkgalaxies.net/download.html to get the latest release.
