Imjin War of Korea mod fix and translations for Medieval 2 Kingdoms.
A translation and patch for Imjin War of Korea Medieval 2 Total War mod. Besides the translation, this patch includes a very minor change to the campaign script which brings the campaign forward to 6 tpy. The Japanese invasion forces land about two turns earlier than previously and will drag out the spawn rate of the invading armies instead of a complete blitz against the Joseon kingdom in under 6 turns. Minor buffs are also given to the Joseon units. Other historic events also follow suit. Slight changes to victory conditions for all factions (mainly just renaming settlements). Also adjusted guilds so that triggers work properly. Town center capture countdown also fixed.
To install, download part 1 of the Imjin War mod(only part 1 is needed for the full game, the other parts don't actually add anything new). Install part 1 of the Imjin mod into the mods folder under Medieval 2. Run the mod using the launcher.exe or the .bat depending on what you prefer (I'll go over the second option in the later part of this comment in (3)) to test that the game works fine. Next, save a backup of the files under the "data" subfolder of this mod, then download this patch. If you only want the translation, read at (1). Read (2) if you want to include some minor balance fixes.
1) If you choose to opt for only the translations, you can extract and replace only the files that are within the 'text' folder of this patch. For example, browse to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\Imjin_War_of_Korea\data\text"
>copy the contents within 'text' folder and paste into the '...mods\Imjin_War_of_Korea\data\text' folder.
Now most of the contents within the game should be in English.
2)For full patch, extract all the patch contents to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\Imjin_War_of_Korea\data"
Now the modded game should include the translations and faster paced campaign.
3) To launch the mod using .bat file under the "Imjin_War_of_Korea" folder, rightclick on "domod.bat".
Click edit, change the "start kingdoms.exe @mods\Imjin_War_of_Korea\domod.cfg" to "start kingdoms.exe @mods\Imjin_War_of_Korea\Configuration.cfg" (or whatever you renamed your .cfg under the "Imjin_War_of_Korea" folder to.
Now the domod.bat will run the Imjin mod when double clicked. You can also send the .bat to desktop and change the icon to the one provided in the mod folder by rightclicking properties > change icon.
Thanks for this mate.
Just uploaded a new set of files because someone noticed the campaign script didn't trigger in the previous set of translated files. The current uploaded set should work as intended originally with the campaign scripts now.
Always extract these files in the data folder of mod?
Yes that is what you should do if you want the patch. Extract into data\text if you only want the translation. I haven't tried it myself and will do so soon. Hope the Chinese spare me from any viruses
crash game , how can fix ??
