Upgrade to English localization. Scocou, Zone3r and Carlkuwait translations have been merged, tested, and revised for improvement. If you plan on completing the new East Dump mission and flamethrower quest, get this first. These are just a couple of things that have been improved in these files, but the dialog is much better and should help.

I deleted the previous gamedata folder cuz when i tried to overwrite it with the new one the game didnt start, deleting it and placing in the new one made it work, however now when i try to change the language from rus to eng in menu the game crashes...
What do? :(
Ever got it fixed? 20 of december and STILL not fixed.

Good catch. I remember fixing that because I run test all the files before I play test them. Not sure how it got in the upload like that.

You do not have to, the game will play just fine without starting a new game. Just that any text you have already seen stays as it was when you saw it. To see every change takes a new game but it is up to you. Any text you have not seen yet will show the updated text.
Thanks for the quick answer, since I am already about ten hours into this version. Has the patch been fixed of that line error. I am not good with fiddling with things. I usually use Notepad and hope for the best. Is there a better program to edit the text with if I have to do it? Thanks again. Good hunting, stalker!
I do not have access to the file on moddb to change it. I use notepad ++ to edit xml files. Notepad-plus-plus.org
The file compare edit addon for Notepad ++ is very handy. Also, I play test with the old and new file still open but saved. If a mistake is made it is easy and quick to fix it.

I am a fellow Demosfen player sharing my translation with you all. I don't have moddb admin access to change it.
Downloaded it from your link. Thanks! Now, if only the game wouldn't crash at odd times and assault rifles did more realistic damage. And I could find basic tool kits more readily, I have the medium and advanced kits but so far, no basic. Oh, well, time to search more stashes. Thanks again!

If you scroll up and read the comments here you will notice the entire discussion was about how to fix this.

It has been fixed and should be downloaded manually and overwrite the other gamedata files as the osmosis remote file discombubulator is down for maintenance...

I downloaded it directly from carlkuwait's link yesterday and tried it yesterday and had no issues so far. The only new spot I travelled to was Dark Valley and wasn't really talking to the bandits, except with lead. Then it crashed, so will try again tonight, but otherwise, seemed stable enough.

Well, I done the instructions to the letter and as soon as I install THIS improved translation the game just refuses to even start up.
It shows the little square in the center of the screen, and the vanishes and nothing happens, no crash, no game, nothing.
Did the install, changed the line of code, everything looks fine except... nothing is in English even after selecting English in the options and restarting. What's the deal?
In rare instances the menu does not update the localization.ltx file in Gamedata\configs. Open that file and check this.

Yes, we seem to have a few that do not read English trying to use the English patch. As evidenced by the reason for this and the fix for it are clearly written above. In English. Please indicate what language you need the instructions translated to.
How do you install this patch?
Unpack with 7-zip, drag and drop the included gamedata folder on the Demosfen install location folder, overwrite when asked. The same as any other Stalker patch that comes in the form of a gamedata folder.

Ok, I have found the fix - remove xrRender_R3.dll from bin folder.
In reality on the title page it should say in bold capitals "DO NOT DOWNLOAD IF YOU CANNOT SPEAK RUSSIAN".
