Game won't start in any mode (D3D, OpenGL, Software). What's the problem?
the mod will work only on opengl mode, nothing else. (metadrawer doesn't work on software/D3D)
if it is on opengl, it might be because of your GPU, it should be Intel HD Graphics as the minimum.
try getting the original cs 1.6 and set the mode to opengl there, it applies on every mod as long it is cs 1.6.

i played it one time and it was perfect but now, when i try to enter it drop an error it says "Error 5889: Metadata file missing or damaged [4-]!!!" pls help i really like dis mod.

At Other Guy: Please see FAQs article (https://www.moddb.com/mods/hellstrike-modified-combat/tutorials/hellstrike-faqs). You might have set the video to another render mode. It only works on OpenGL.
Also your antivirus might be removing the hl.exe file...

Try typing 'hs_hud_always_on 1' in the console.

I'm gonna leave this comment here instead of deleting it so people can decide for themselves. As I've said, the mod uses metahook which needs a modified hl.exe to work. And yes it triggers false positives. But as far as I know it is nothing malicious and is not a virus. I have the very same client installed in mine and have run it countless times. But to whoever reads this the choice is entirely up to you, I'm not forcing you to download the mod.
As for the commenter, please think twice before posting something. Like I said, for all I know, the mod is safe. If it turns out I was wrong then I made a mistake. But that doesn't make me a liar because I didn't know in the first place. So please, think carefully before throwing accusations, at least present some evidence. It's idiots like you who make the internet such a toxic place...
