Custom Replacers mod. This is to allow more compatibility and optionality when using multiple monster mods for Doom II. Works for Zandronum and GZDoom and maybe some other source ports as well.
This mod, is meant to be loaded after all other mods and allows you to type in
the options menu whatever actors you like to spawn at the replacement spawners.
These settings are also saved between games, so if you like to keep the same actors in the replacers after restarting the game, should all save there and it will be the same next time you include the mod.
So for example you want to run master of puppets with The Mandrake's Cry,
well now you could go in the options and choose to set some of the spawners to spawn zombies or whatever else you desire.
This feature is built into my zombie mod "The Mandrake's Cry" but I thought it could be a cool feature to release as a standalone mod.
This can also be used to replace all zombieman with lostsoul or whatever you like to do as well so have a ball!
Now updated to support TIDs, it will store original TID and return them to the actors just in case that helps with mod compatibility. Also I made it so it will automatically spawn in the original actor if the actor you typed in is not valid, and some error messages if that happens. Comment if there are more actors you'd like to see supported. I could probably add weapons and ammo but it takes work, so I'm not going to do it unless there is a request for it. That said if you would like to replace weapons ammo or other monsters, comment and I will add it to my todo list! Thanks for reading.
This mod now supports all doom monsters and if the original actor names are passed into the text fields, you will have the original monsters to fight. For any issues or feedback please comment.
Cool mod, lots of potential. Tested on Gzdoom 4.10.0 with Dehacked Attack 4.0. Some feedback:
- Spams unknown commands on map start about "CountSpawners" and "PreEverythingDelay"
- No option to replace Lost Soul, Cyberdemon, or Spider Demon. Would be nice to be able to replace the whole suite.
- Monsters are not replaced fast enough for other mods like Chaos Cards to play off them: Chaos Cards usually doesn't find any monsters to spawn cards for, occasionally it will find one to make cards for but that's about it. Also the fact that Lost Souls, Cyberdemons, Spider Demons, and Wolfenstein SS are not replaced, Chaos Cards winds up preferring them since they spawn earlier.
- Would be really nice to add compatibility with the original Doom actors in case someone only wants to replace some monsters but not all of them.

Seems to be working fine on my end.
I've updated it again with some slightly better code, now if you misstype something the default actor will spawn in and also it gives error messages.
