The early access release of Half life trials. It contains the first two trial levels.
The demo is roughly 25 to 30 minutes long and spans across 8 maps. This version is tested on the steam version of half life, but I am certain that it will work on WON versions as well.
How to install:
-After downloading the file, put it in your half life folder ex:"...\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\". After that you have to restart steam. The name Trials is supposed to appear in your library.
Changelog 1.1

- Added more clip brushed to major softlock areas
- Fixed loud waterfall sounds in the bridge sewer section

There is still a lot more that needs to be fixed. The first city map is not that polished up because it requires a bit more work than just a few fixes and it will probably be overhauled in the long run
Nice! I have to ask though [And this question isn't suppose to be rude or sarcastic] but did you get inspired from anime? Cause some parts kinda make me think of it anime. Hope you don't mind the question
Hey, thanks for the question! The inspiration for the mod was taken from all sorts of different places and yes, anime was one of the inspirations for it. I don't watch anime all that much these days because it became stale and bland for me over the years. Most of the stuff that feels inspired is something that I was interested at the time when I was developing it, for example Left 4 dead or Chainsaw man and stuff like that. For the story and presentation I was inspired more by stuff like the Terminator or the Matrix, stuff like that.
Thanks for responding so quick! I was wondering since the gonome enemy had reminded me of that. I wish you the best on this mod!
This is definitely a great mod that already has a lot of content for the demo. I love playing Half-life mods that immerse players in different environments, and Trials doesn't break the immersion. There are many unconventional maps to play through, the city/town is my favorite, and good craftsmanship went into new enemies and level design elements. I almost forgot I was playing a Half-life mod in the second half of the game.
I would say that Trials isn't afraid to introduce new puzzles that require a bit more cognitive thinking. Most games will try too hard to hold the player's hand, and Trials had plenty of fun puzzles that were not too confusing (Using the bulldozer, Etc.). All I can say is that I hope the developer continues to create more work.
the camera spins when i load in and there isnt a "Raw Mouse Input" option in settings (which i think may be the cause)
OK i turned off Raw Mouse Input in the base half-life and put my sensitivity to the lowest possible in the menu. the camera isnt spinning, it never was. the issue is that the camera is like rolling
it doesnt stop turning when i stop moving the mouse. it just slows down like im using a steam controller trackball
also, since the raw mouse input option is missing and options are in different places:
i think the settings menu is outdated somehow. maybe spirit of half life is causing it?
OK i fixed it myself
i did a bit of research and found a steam discussion post titled "Mouse issues". someone in the post mentioned that they had to copy their "config.cfg" from vanilla to get blue-shift to work.
so i did the same thing. i copied "config.cfg" from valve and dropped it into the mod folder and it worked! strange issue.
very strange issue.
Very strange indeed. I couldn't replicate the bug, I was told it has something to do with old Spirit versions, but I am not really sure. I am glad you managed to fix it somehow! The weird menu is because it uses the old WON resource files that haven't been cleaned up because I wasn't aware of it until pretty recently, so it's not due to spirit and more due to my incompetence. I will probably patch these menu bugs soon, there is still a lot more stuff that has to be fixed with the maps and such, but that would have to be a much larger patch and probably won't be anytime soon
More people should know about this
Anniversary updates are welcome :)
