Updated release of the port. Requires Half-Life 2.
How to install: simply put the folder in (your Steam installation folder)/Steamapps/sourcemods, restart Steam.
If it doesn't show up in the library, check that it's the main Steam folder (with steam.exe) and not one of the libraries on another drive if you have multiple ones!
Updated on Oct 30th 2022:
- added Russian localisation (credits to A-Shift for translating the majority of the text)
- added Physgun, Sticky Launcher, Hopwire Grenade, I-Rifle
- a few 2003 HUD changes - old crosshair appears in 2003 maps, old weapon pickup HUD animations appear in all maps
- fixed weapon dropping behavior, added key binding for it
- fixed the oversight that let the player ride striders by +USEing them in any conditions and on retail maps
- fixed rebel ammo resuppliers ammo counts (used to give only 1 round of ammo at a time)
- small miscellaneous fixes
doesn't appear in steam… does it need gameinfo.txt? does it need hl2 update or regular hl2 or sdk base?
yeah hate to break it to you but it's in the main steam folder and everything and it doesn't show up in the library :|
It can't be because I have HL2 installed on my D:// drive and Steam on my C:// because SMOD redux still shows up just fine in my library.
supposed to be in Sourcemods folder; use 7zip, usually I right click on the zip open with 7zip, you will see the hl2003 folder, got to extrack button then point it towards; whatever your steam directory is;
\steamapps\Sourcemods restart steam. Everytime you want to install a mod it will be in the 7zips GUI history.
Updated: The mod works properly. It should be (is) listed as "Half-Life 2 (2003)" in your library. The problem is with some of the stuff that you find along the way, as well as a complete drop/loss of any plot line - so you need to manually pick the chapter from there (where you left off,) as it doesn't follow a straight path. Digger in the "Ravenholm" part goes crazy so it's hard to use it, as it flies all over the place. I hope that this is fixed somehow (if possible) in the next update.
They ported all from hl2 beta, so digger was like that and will be
Well then it's impossible to use it then. Well I noticed the mod has been updated (and 2 of my comments here deleted,) but I don't know rather if the digger was fixed or not - I don't see any updates in the description.
(Well actually I read and it may have been fixed as "small miscellaneous fixes".)
You might consider posting a mirror somewhere else, ModDB is failing to serve files lately.
Nice.
It shows up in my Library fine, but only shows one Chapter. Can we choose a
Chapter ourselves and jump to different chapters ?
I think I figured it out....every time you run the mod, it choses 11 different
chapters and you play them through one at a time.
do the chapters have copies of the same maps, or are they all different in each
chapter ?
Thanks for your efforts on this.
It should keep me out of trouble for the winter. :)
I'm not quite sure how to picture what you're describing.
Some chapters are connected with each other (Trainstation up to 3rd Canals chapter can be played without interruption), other chapters aren't chained together except the Streetwars, because by 2003 most of them weren't connected seamlessly.
If you mean that you can only start the first chapter but the rest are greyed out, then close the new game menu then try the console command sv_unlockedchapters 99
There are 50 maps total separated into 12 chapters, each different from the rest.
Could anyone show the right path to install it please??
Install to your source mod folder then restart steam. Not a stand alone.
so, 2002 next?
every time i try to launch it it gives me a engine error
make sure your sdk 2013 settings are set to update Beta.
Is it possible to install an add-on for movement as in Half-Life 1?
