This is the last major release for Fallout: New California. The vast majority of reported quest issues have been resolved and the gameplay is much more stable, balanced, and consistently presents itself. A full re-download with new mesh and texture compression.
Installation guide:
Put this Zip file on your desktop or wherever you download it to.
Unzip the Zip.
Run the EXE.
Make sure the EXE found where New Vegas is installed. If not, point it there.
Run the Installer. Follow instructions. Just hit yes to all.
Done.
Using a mod manager of your choice (NMM, Vortex, FOMM) ensure NewCalifornia.esm is in this position:
FalloutNV.esm ✓
(all official DLCs)
(YUP & Unofficial Patches)
NewCalifornia.esm ✓
(New California dlc control plugins)
And make sure they are activated. This is important! Make sure this order is correct and the boxes are checked as active.
It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you install the fixes for Vanilla New Vegas: New Vegas Tick Fix and New Vegas Anti Crash. Nearly all vanilla crashes and stuttering can be solved using these two mods.

Despite this I have a massive FPS drop in Vault 18 and Union City. This problem has been known from the beginning. I personally see no reason for this issue.
I have: clean install, 4GB patch, New Vegas Tick Fix, New Vegas Anti Crash, ENBoost. Witcher 3 with uber ultra graphics run smooth as hell.
I know people have bothered you a thousand times with this, but this is a reality. Why is it happening? Does it have anything to do with Windows updates or is it black magic? Sometimes I have to look into the ground to walk a certain distance. I'm sorry to bother you with this, but ...

Modders are welcome to come in and attempt additional optimization steps. Occasional dips to 30fps with 50-60 on average on this engine is totally acceptable to me, and I feel no compulsion to fix what's wrong with a Bethesda product. I don't own New Vegas. It's just a hobby project. If I owned it you could expect me to bend over backwards and fight for a solution, but I can't unfuck this engine and have zero desire to do so without reward.
That said, it's the Atrium Core, Union City's Main Street, and Athens-Tec's Quarry. They are dense scenes, and you need to turn off every other process on your PC to ensure they run right. No anti-virus scans, no browsers, etc. Turn all that junk off. NVTF and NVAC will help, but 30fps is totally fine and nothing I can do about it having stopped working on this mod and begun working professionally on my own projects without these constraints. (And thank the gods it's not Gambryo engine.)
So I updated to 231 two months ago. I put in at least 50 hours into the mod and it worked fine. But then all of a sudden the game crashed when I tried to fast travel and spyroed out of control. Now the game almost always is in an endless loading screen and I can't return to the desktop so I have to hard shut off and turn the laptop back on. About every one in ten times this happens I have to reinstall New Vegas on Steam. I tried lowering the resolution and quality down to the lowest it can go but it's choppy and the dialouge and sound effects could go away. I can't fast travel as it will crash the game and I can't load a save while playing as that will crash the game. I noticed that one time I reinstalled the game it removed the Pinehaven hideout and it was working fine. When I got that back on the world map the problems came back? Got any ideas?
That sounds so specific to your personal situation I, nor any other tech help, could ever advise you on what to do.

I've done everything instructed and the esm's and other files for the mod still haven't popped up for me, I even watched tutorials on how to install it and it still hasn't worked for me.
There is no tutorial video. There shouldn't need to be one.
You unzip the files, and run the exe. Point it at New Vegas if it's not where it should be by default, and hit install. Wait... and done. Then go to whatever mod manager you use and make sure the order is correct with your other mods and the boxes are checked if they are not.
MO2 makes it more complicated. Other mods make it more complicated.

do i start up NVSE_loader or just the normal exe to play this? ..i forgot
It doesn't matter. Anyway you start new vegas should work.
Is it a stand-alone game? Can you play it without installing anything else?
FNC only requires Fallout New Vegas to play.
BUT -- New Vegas shipped broken. It's a sad story but a short one -- 18 months just wasn't enough to work out the bugs and short comings of this engine.
You need New Vegas Anti Crash and New Vegas Tick Fix installed to fix New Vegas proper before anything will run smoothly, let alone FNC.
Never mind, the question was answered before.

You only need 223. You don't need any other versions to update.
You can try to overwrite saves (but this is true of ALL games, ever) you should always restart your game on major updates. It can mean old bugs still persist in your save game and other issues.
great mod, love it, but i just have one question i would really like answered...

I have since got 3 jobs and had a baby girl, so I'm tapped out. It's up to a new group of modders to come in and continue with the rest of the FNC team still taking care of the mod and supporting player with tech help on Discord.
i just found out at the vondors after 2seconds im showing 0 caps and the vendors too ,im using tgm and added a bunch of caps too after a sell didnt work either. The caps are there in my inventory just not the vendor, i will go back a few saves and see from there ..
Anyone know this bug ?

NCR towns do not take caps. You have to trade dollars for things or barter.

I wouldn't recommend it. It will perform poorly on less than 8GB of ram.

26APR23 DL'd from the preselected MODdb server and then the 'DBolical FMT #2 (CALIFORNIA, US)' server. Upon installation, got the same NSIS_Error message (https://nsis.sourceforge.io/NSIS_Error) each time.
The files hash (MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, & SHA-512) verified correctly.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
