Should I install this over a different version?

Hi,
So I encounterd a problem with the game crashing when I start a new adventure. I downloaded the original Akella game from Old-Games.com, when I finished installing I imedietaly downloaded Build 14 beta 4.0. The menu loaded up fine but when I tried starting a new game, while loading, it crashes every time with no crash log or error. I tried Installing this Extra Fix hoping the probelm would be fixed with no luck.
Please help.
BTW I'm running WIN 10 64-bit on a razer blade 15 laptop.

How do I install this file to get the Jan 2021 update? ive just installed part 1 and 2 (the build being 2018) and it works fine, but when i download this i'm not to sure what to do. I downloaded it and extracted it to the same folder as part 1 and part 2 and ran the install again but its still saying its the 2018 install. Am I doing it wrong?
Is this possibly the same update i just grabbed from the main Ahoy site ?
