This is the first tech demo for my work in progress UltraHD Texture pack. All textures are subject to change. The pack is split into 5 files. a man file and overrides specific to doom 1, doom 2, plutonia experiment and evilution. to use this pack you need to set up the main file and the override for your game of choice (Ex for doom 1 you first need the main filename in your batch file and then the file name for the doom 1 override) This prevents mismatched textures as some textures in Plutonia experiment and evilution have the same names as those in doom 1 and 2, and this is the only way I could get all 4 games to use their own sky textures, rather than all use Doom 2's skies.
HOOVER1979 UltraHD Texture Pack Tech Demo 1
This is my first demo release of my work in progress UltraHD Texture pack for Doom, Doom II, Plutonia Experiment and Evilution.
This pack is still a long way from completion and all textures presented in this pack are subject to change. I am teaching myself as I go, and as my skills further develop textures that aren't up to scratch with the developed skills will be remade so the utmost attention to detail and overall quality is upheld.
These textures are of a whopping resolution and this pack is designed for GZDoom. This pack will crash Doomsday/Risen 3D at multiple points with memory allocation errors it is due to some textures/skies being larger then the strict requirements of the JDoom engine will allow. I plan to make a Doomsday/Risen3D compatible pack when this one is finished. I also plan on making a bright map pack for the GZDoom pack and a smaller 1k texture pack for low-end machines. I have only tested this pack with the 64bit Gzdoom 3.1 The same crash issues may be present with the 32bit version of GZDoom, but I am unsure of that as I haven't texted this on the 32Bit version of GZDOOM. Use this on the 32bit version at your own risk, and don't be surprised if you get crashes.
