This file is standalone - you do not need any other mod files. If you had already installed V4, you MUST delete the V4 folder.
Divide and Conquer V4.5 only requires Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms Expansion or the Steam Definitive Edition to play.
Installation Video Guide:
DaC V4.5
1) Remove the V4 Divide & Conquer folder from this location:
[your path]\Medieval II Total War\mods
2) Download the V4.5 file
3) Unzip the file to any location and keep the 5 files inside together (4 .bin files and 1 .exe)
4) Run the executable.
5) If you have not moved your steam directory from the C drive then click next otherwise go to 5.1.
5.1) If your steam directory is not on your C drive then you need to manually locate your your path as follows and click on the 'common' folder:
[DRIVE]/steam/steamapps/common
Make sure your path does not list 'Medieval II Total War' twice!
6) You must run Large Address Aware on the Medieval2.exe when prompted. Follow the instructions that appear on screen.
7) You may need to delete your VirtualStore entry as detailed here or in this video.

I have a question: when do You plan to add: the unification of the kingdoms of Gondor and Arnor?
If you are asking about reunited kingdom then it will be in V5.
v5 will be out in a year?
No one knows that.
It will, Arachîr Galudirithon is already doing a lot of dev diaries on it on his channel.
He does make dev diaries but no one knows when will be the release.
he does say he expects early next year though
The official status of DaC V5's release is "when it's ready".
At this time, we have no ETA.

Thank you for your great work
do you need the third age mod to work with DAC 4.5?
No, you have not needed it since V4. All you need is DaC.
Sadly but justly they got kicked out of twcenter forums because of that, but yeah this is so convenient now

Best mod
I have the M2TW original disks. Installed it, downloaded 4.5 without any TATW mods installed. Anyone have a clue why when I tried to install DaCV4.5 I get an error saying "The file DaCV4.5.a.bin" could not be located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common. PLease insert the correct disk or select another folder. Anyone able to help?

Historically, you just needed to find the Med II folder in your C drive. I don't imagine it would be any different now.
i have a problem with the installation at this point: large_castle_12_square_arrow_tower_roof_animation_a.anim
if you have the steam version of medieval 2 make sure you selected the //steamapps/common directory NOT the //common/Medieval II Total War directory

for everone having the error code 3 and KNOW that they installed it on the right path (which is the steamfolder "common"). the installer is shite and can't handle too long paths. so if you have steam e.g. in a specific folder you might run into that problem with code 3. what it means is, that the installer can't place specific files in a folder cause the path got too long for him. so what you have to do is, close steam and all exe that run with steam, cut out your steam folder (not just copy & paste, but actually cut and paste) and place it blankly on ya harddrive. install the mod. it should now run just fine. do what it wants ya to do and when you are done. cut the steam folder out again and put it back where it was before you had to do all dat **** for that silly installer. don't forget to rerun the large adress_aware.exe and tell him where to find the medieval II exe AGAIN. you can find it in the divide & conquer folder that is in the mod folder of your medieval II (steam => steamapps => common => medieval II => mods => divide and conquer).
done and you are good to go. all the files that were too long for the installer are now in the folder where they need to be...
