⛧ DooM 3 Essential HD Pack v2.0 ⛧
QOL improvements merged with AI upscaled texture pack, Wulfen and Monoxead HD textures with all the fixes of Sikkmod 1.2 and 1.1 for Doom 3 and RoE, better models and weapons without change the game. Added new HD textures and improved assets, fixed maps and new lighting. It's 100 % vanilla friendly. Recommended for those who want a clean and correct visual experience for Doom 3 without gameplay changes. The pack is for the original Doom 3, Resurrection of Evil and Lost Mission mod.
Installation:
-Extract and paste in "base","d3xp" and "d3le" folders the pak files and the autoexec for ultra quality (remember to set your desktop resolution in DoomConfig.cfg or use DHEWM3). The file "zzz_pak007sikk.pk4" is optional and includes the vibrant lighting from Sikkmod 1.2, fixed for latest systems. Just put it in "base" folder to activate it for Doom 3, RoE and Lost Mission.
NOTES:
- AMD users and anyone else that notice visual issues with the improved lighting, need to rename original doom3.exe file (ex. doom 3.exe), or delete "zzz_pak007sikk.pk4".
Recommended play a new game since savegames could be corrupted for the addition of scripts, new models and map fixes.

This is for vanilla Doom 3 v1.3.1 (retail full patched/Steam version), who use DHEWM3 engine or other widescreen fixes don't need of this.
Instructions:
Check "Run this program as administrator" in your D3 shortcut (Properties->Compatibility tab);
All you need is to add those strings in the autoexec or modify DoomConfig.cfg:
r_customwidth "1920" (or higher)
r_customheight "1080" (or higher)
r_mode "-1"
r_aspectratio "1" (0 is 4:3, 1 for 16:9, 2 for 16:10/15:9)

Why is it smaller than the previous version?
Because I optimized all textures. Now the pack is fast to download, easy to update.
I know it's alot to ask and you probably won't be able to do it I don't no lol but any chance you could give rage 1 the same treatment as that game could really do with this type of treatment? As the textures in that game are not very good as you probably already know. That game would really benefit and pop with an upscale like you've done for doom 3? Much to ask I know and would be very appreciative if you could but at the same time sounds like it could be some real hard work so if you can't that's fine. And by the way I've just completed Doom 3 I'm now on the lost missions but man I've got to say I've spent that many moments doing an moment of appreciation because what you've done is amazing eye candy all the way lol you really have made doom pop again best upscale out there to date you really have pulled this one off amazing work my friend I hope to see more projects and updates from you in the future 🔥👌👌

(I'm a bit rusty but I think this would work with almost/all id tech games)
I'd suggest making use of "autoexec.cfg" to include other configs in your mod, within "autoexec.cfg" you could add "exec resolution.cfg" and could then tell users to edit "resolution.cfg" to their liking, which would be easier with less chance of new users editing the wrong value. You could also setup "resolution.cfg" with the resolution values you consider to be a safe but reasonable, perhaps 1920x1080 as I think that's still the most common and should be okay for most performance wise these days. While "DoomConfig.cfg" has even safer/lower default settings.
Using "autoexec.cfg" in this way you could overwrite default settings without having to modify the config file, making it easy to revert to default settings by simply removing it from autoexec or even renaming the file so it can't be found.

Hello, running a clean install, patched to 1.3.1, not using optional (sikk).pk4, start an original doom 3 game, select difficulty to begin and it crashes on the loading screen with a 'malloc failure'? Version 1 works fine. Have the Nov 15th file. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Weird, I fully tested v2.0 with original 1.3.1 without problems. What your system spec? Do you tried the autoexec for low-end computers?
Yeeah V2.0 works fine for me too he's got to be doing something wrong there I've installed this mod to doom 3 like 3 times and all three times installed and worked correctly
I did use the included autoexec. The doubled resolution of version 2 must be 'my' problem, I only have a 2 GB videocard. It does work on High Quality with the same resolution, but looks worse than vanilla on Ultra. I don't want to downsize, like some had to do with 'The Dark Mod'. Have to stick with version 1.
Used the autoexec for low-end. I guess the downsize is not a problem for me like I thought. Looks good.
Hola Friend, how to use alpha shotgun in campaign?
Krizalidan hi! Just put Alpha Shotgun pk4 file in the folder of the game, it will replace default model. It won't work with Resurrection of Evil. Only Doom 3 and Lost Mission.
I tried to do that, but when I try to start the campaign, I get an error before starting.
Fixed in latest update, it works also with Resurrection of Evil!

H3llBaron, Hello friend. your mod is amazing, the performance level is very good even on my not so good machine. I only found a small bug in the texture of the automatic rotary machine gun on the roof of the delta security post, it turned completely dark.

Hello,H3llBaron. I have a question. my integrated video card is AMD, but I never noticed any visual defects with sikkmod's vibrant lighting. what kind of issues with enhanced lighting are you referring to? I didn't find it, is this normal?
Yes it's normal. Well, you could first notice problems if you see complete white mars globe in menu, then broken effects in the game. With latest drivers and dhewm3 this doesn't happen anymore.

Any way to disable the new glass reflections? For some reason it tanks my FPS whenever they're on screen even with the low-end autoexec.

I fixed emitting light plasma projectile, now with proper color. Fixed some problems in Mars City1 and 2 about stencil shadows problems in some corners and further optimized textures.
