A modified version of GameData.ini that puts the game speed back at 30fps, letting you play Generals Challenge with the Atlas mod without any speed-based abnormalities.
Atlas mod has a bug where the game speeds up when playing the Generals Challenge (and possibly other modes outside Skirmish). I found it's caused by an entry in GameData.ini (FramesPerSecondLimit) that sets the default game speed to 50 frames per second, rather than the default 30.
How to Install:
Head to Data\INI inside the game directory (where you installed the mod) and replace the GameData.ini there with the one from this archive.
I've also added an optional .BIG file that contains only the ini file if you're the type who prefers compressing the entire mod into a single BIG file like I do.
Cranking up the game speed to make the game look "smooth" seems to be a recurring mistake I see every now and then. The setting doesn't just affect the animations, but also everything else in the game engine goes. The timer for map scripts in particular measure the amount of frames that pass before activating, which can get overwhelming as the CPU starts reacting faster than the player can handle. Increasing the game speed doesn't really help with lag, at least in my opinion.
Thanks a ton for this fix! ^-^
Now all that's needed is both a MUCH BETTER arty vehicle (Tomahawk is trash imho, the M270 MRLS vehicle [ En.wikipedia.org ] that a good few Gen mods replace it with is FAR more superior imho) for the Atlas faction and a MUCH-NEEDED fix for the REALLY ANNOYING "Some Gen Challenge maps, such as Townes' personal Challenge map, crash whenever the super ICBM SW is ever used on it" issue, really, HATE that issue after all...! >_<
You're welcome!
The MLRS is a public resource and can be found here: Moddb.com
I hope you know how to actually mod the game for it. This isn't exactly a plug-and-play mod if you're after a single item.
As for the crash with the bug, I don't remember ever encountering that bug but that maybe because I rarely use the ICBM. Either way, that's harder to fix. It requires either map scripting or fixing the ICBM itself. The weird thing is that WorldBuilder doesn't throw any tantrums when I open it with Atlas installed so it doesn't look like the ICBM has anything wrong with its code. I'm assuming it's just a touch up of the code and assets EA left behind. Maybe it's just me.
you if you can make thes mod for genLauncher
I'm sorry for the late reply but I don't actually own the mod so I don't know how to add it there.
