After 5 months of work, I'm very excited to finally release the follow up to my Absolute War Galactic Conquest. May I present to you, Absolute Battlefront: Galactic Civil War! This is a 2-part mod, and alongside this I have also released the brand new Absolute Battlefront: The Clone Wars Galactic Conquest. Choose to play either as the Rebels or the Empire, and battle across the galaxy covering 38 planets on 48 different maps! YOU MUST MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD ALL THE REQUIRED MOD MAPS AS FEATURED BELOW AND IN THE INCLUDED FILE FOR THIS MOD TO WORK CORRECTLY!
*UPDATED* There's been a small update to the Clone Wars mod, so the GC file for that era on this mod has been updated. Everything else is the same.
For the most part, this is a technical upgrade of my previous work rather than anything else. While with my Clone Wars edition I have supported AI heroes, custom loadscreens and support of side mods, I have decided not to do that for the Civil War Era version. The number one reason being is time. But another, smaller reason, is that when I first picked out these maps to include in my Galactic Conquest mod, I picked these as I believed they were some of the best of the best. Therefore I wanted to keep this as simple and streamlined as possible.
That said, it still makes for fantastic gameplay. Plus, I have made a few changes from the original version, including a few planet locations tweaked, some name changes, and overcoming all the issues I found when making the first one, including custom planet models, functioning capital ship models on all planets, and being able to load multiple GCs in one file (I believe this is a first in Battlefront 2 Modding). I believe this Galactic Conquest represents the full extent of what a Galactic Conquest Mod can be! I really hope you enjoy playing it as much as I have enjoyed making it.
HIGHLIGHTS
Highlights of these Galactic Conquests include:
- 38 unique planets, only 11 of which are stock planets
- Each planet location is correct based on SWGalaxyMap.com
- Each planet has a unique model design, camera zoom effect and capital ship positions
- Includes 48 maps, including the 3 space maps and 9 stock maps
- The Yavin model that plagues most custom galactic conquests has been fixed
- Disabled the enemy team from buying bonuses that will have no effect on them
- Dantooine, Rhen Var and Yavin all have multiple map options
INSTALLATION
I have a few important notes I recommend you read first before trying to install, to avoid any issues later on.
I have included 2 Galactic Conquest files in this pack:
custom_gc_12 - Absolute Battlefront: Galactic Civil War <-- This is the important one for this mod
custom_gc_13 - Absolute Battlefront: Clone Wars
IMPORTANT: TO MAKE EITHER OF THESE FILES WORK, YOU MUST HAVE A custom_gc_11 FILE ALSO INSTALLED IN YOUR GameData -> data -> _lvl_pc FOLDER.
I have included a dummy custom_gc_11 file, but if you have another custom galactic conquest that also uses this name, such as the Dark Times II galactic conquest, you can use that instead, they will all function fine, provided you have the correct level files installed in your addon folder.
To be safe, it is always best to have a back up folder of Galactic Conquests before downloading this mod. I have included one in this mod you can use if you don't already have one.
You must have the V1.3 Patch installed for this mod (and most others) to work. You can install it here: Moddb.com
Installation is fairly straightforward, simply place the correct folders and files within your correct game folders. If you're unsure, full instructions are available in the readme file.
Finally, I had hoped that all maps for this GC and the Clone Wars GC would be able to work in one addon folder. Unfortunately, there's just too many, and I wasn't willing to cut down the number of maps. You will therefore have to have 2 seperate addon folders for each era. I realise this will mean you'll have some duplicates for the maps that appear in both eras. I am truly sorry about this, but this is a limitation of the game that just can't be overcome at the moment.
MAP DOWNLOADS
You MUST have every map required for this Galactic Conquest downloaded and in your addon folder if you do not wish to encounter any issues while playing this Galactic Conquest.

- Planet Models
I tried to make my own planet models, then quickly realised I did not possess nearly enough artistic talent to create anything that looked remotely good. I therefore cannot express my gratitude enough to the following people and sources for their available planet models:
Dueal
Frederick R Higgins
Landon Lemmon of ‘Maps and Such’
Gregory Nelson
Shiny_Man
The Celestia Motherlode: AVBursch, bcelestia , Edasich, Fungun, Gradius_fanatic, jmdollan, Jestr, Kikinho, Pericapolis, Rob Sanders, Sen, SolonaBogon, Tleilax, Victor Dvorak, Et Al
- Special Thanks
As for the Galactic Conquest map, the work on this was solely done by me. However, without everyone who came before me, posting on the GameToast forums and allowing me to collate all the experienced and knowledge I needed, I would never have got anywhere. Special thanks therefore go to the following:
[RDH]Zerted - without the sample files provided in the v1.3 patch, this would never have started, so you probably deserve the most thanks.
Anakin
DrJHanning
Firefang
Frisbeetarian
Jaspo
Maveritchell
S1thK3nny
Teancum
There are almost certainly more, however these people have given me the majority of the information I needed. Apologies if you're not on the list, your contribution was no less essential.
BUGS/ISSUES & FUTURE UPDATES
As far as I know, you should not have any bugs or errors while playing this. However, I recommend saving after every round just in case the game crashes, as it often does with mods involved.
If you do encounter any issues, feel free to contact me on Moddb or on discord. On Discord I am JackGH#2841, or Jedi_Jack on the gametoast group.
I have spent over a year now working on these 4 Galactic Conquests, and I have lots of new idea which I want to get started with. As such, I feel now is probably the time to draw a close to them, and don't plan on doing any major updates to them. If any major bugs are found by users, I will fix these. If there's a large demand for a particular feature, I may consider implementing it.
One thing I had considered was making a GCW version of the CW galactic conquest, and a CW version of the GCW galactic conquest. However, this would be quite a lot of work and I really want to put my efforts into new and exciting endeavours, so I will only consider this IF THE DEMAND IS THERE FROM THE PLAYERS.
I think there's something wrong with this mod or I did something wrong. Some of the maps keep crashing the game to desktop no error nothing.
Even when some of them do load there's no map just a white empty circle with no spawn points...
Most odd. Mind telling me which ones in particular you’re having issue with? And have you tried them out on instant action and are you getting the same thing happen?
I didn't think to try them in Instant Action. I'll get back to you when I figure out which map it is.
Tho it could be the portable Hard drive I have the game installed on giving me issues. I'm gonna reinstall the game onto my main SSD and I'll let you know.
By the way did you make the enemy team very difficult? When I'm playing as let's say... The empire for example and I'm fighting the Rebels how come the Rebels keep destroying my team? My team can't even hardly damage the Rebels yet the Rebels hunt down my team like they are nothing and I always end up losing.
Ok great, let me know your findings. I’ve not tweaked the difficulty settings for the GCW era (I have for Clone Wars) and the maps the GC refer to are just the standard setups of the maps as you’d play on instant action. I normally find with GCs though, the closer you get to completing it, the harder it gets, and I think the game does increase the difficulty behind the scenes, so could be down to that. Could also be the way the original map modded built them, if they haven’t made it very well balanced. I’d just try finding the right strategy, use the right booster item, take over the right CPs, that kinda thing
I think I found out the issue... I put every map into 1 addon folder and now I don't know which ones I need to separate just to use this mod I.imgur.com
There shouldn't be a problem with having them all in one addon folder, the few extras that you've downloaded (the other Natural Pack maps and the Rebel Ops maps) shouldn't affect this mod in any way. But if you want to know, the ones you don't need are BGL, BRO, JLS, KWF, SFF, and VEM. But again, having those 6 maps shouldn't be causing an issue
First (and hopefully only) issue I've found is Death Star 2 crashing my game with no errors shown in GC. I've attempted to pull it up in IA but it is not showing up there.
(Now also LLum has crashed GC)
Love the mod btw, so far no other issues have been detected :)
hello ! sorry but i have a strange bug : when i am attaqued in a planet i have a strange choise who replace bonus : this chooise give me a choice to select mod game(order 66,ctf,heroes ctf, classic conquest and another mod game)but i can't advance and resolve the fight, its strange, what is it ?
Whenever I try to attack Bespin, it gives me a "fatal" error saying it could not open mission .lvl. I have all the maps/ mods installed. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
So I removed the BF3 Legacy mod and retried the game, and I'm now stuck at Bespin. It just crashes to desktop whenever I attack the planet.
First time trying out the mod with all maps installed. Crashed to desktop after winning first battle. It seems like a good mod, but it's too unstable to be enjoyed.
I revisited this mod, wich was one of my favorites, but it seems to crash everytime i open the game. I try one by one, and it seems the actual custom 12 file is the one that makes the game crash, for some reason. It only seems to happen with the GCW and not the CW one
Jedi_Jack,
Whenever I attack Bespin, my game crashes as soon as I hit "start." I downloaded HarrisonFog's mod as you said (since it contains the Bespin map), but it still doesn't work. I've been using your GC mods for a while now and have really good experiences with them--just not sure why this map is not working. It works fine in Instant Action.
I have Scarif installed, yet I've noticed anytime I attack it my game CTD's. It loads fine in Instant Action so I thought maybe something's wrong in the mod. I checked the level files and noticed the 3 letter code is different than the one you listed on the read me / description.
That's because It's not the same map according to the game. The map that worked for the campaign was taken down because the creator for that map, Lee87, deleted SCF in favor of the newer version: SC2. The problem is that Jedi_Jack's campaign is set to find SCF, not SC2. Meaning either Jack needs to change his campaign or Lee needs to change his map.
Ah, that's a shame. Gonna be stuck without finishing it for a bit then. Noticed the same error happening on some other planets too, so maybe Jack updating it would be a good idea.
