About Powargrid
After thinking up, designing, and prototyping games for many years, we finally started something we thought we might finish: Powargrid. This was three years ago.

We built the first prototype for Powargrid in May 2011 and quickly realised that the concept had potential. We started in Java (the programming language, not the island), but shortly after found out about and moved to Unity. This meant we needed 3D models. Once we had those, we thought it'd be nice to have a campaign with a storyline, a cast of characters and dialogues.

Driven by a lack of artistic skills, Willem populated the campaign world with... blobbies! Turns out you can put a lot of character into one eye, one eyebrow and a mouth. Driven by a lack of restraint, he proceeded to write about half a novel's worth of dialogues.

Michiel found out about explosions and has been making particle effects ever since. Oh, and really satisfying explosions.

Powargrid also features a rather decent AI (computer opponent) and online multiplayer. We found out that making a game is a helluvalotta work.

About Willem
Willem has been designing games for as long as he can remember (not due to amnesia). Board games, card games, story games and now video games. Game design was always a hobby, but with Wee Free Studio, things have gotten a bit more serious. For now, Willem holds a day job as an energy specialist at an environmental protection agency, but he'd love to spend entire days designing and building games.

About Michiel
Michiel wrote his first programs on a C64 and has been coding ever since. Games, tools, and toys, very few of which were ever finished. By day, he's an embedded software engineer building wireless sensor networks at SOWNet Technologies. At night, there's time for hobby projects. Making games full time would be great - he could use some sleep.
