The Game Bakers company

The Game Bakers is an independent video game studio founded by Emeric Thoa and Audrey Leprince. To sum it up they often say that they make games like they cook food: with a lot of love. They want to create that experience that players remember, that they will have fantasies about long after the game is finished, and that makes them feel alive and energized. The studio is based in Montpellier in France – right above a bakery – but they work as a "studio in the clouds" with a team of collaborators around the world.

History

AAA developers in their former lives, Emeric and Audrey created The Game Bakers in 2010. SQUIDS, their first game is an underwater tactical RPG on mobile. It has received great feedback from players wwith an average 5 star user rating. SQUIDS Wild West, followed in its footsteps. It made the top 10 best ranked mobile games of 2012. Combo Crew, a modern take on the old-school brawlers was released in 2013, bringing fighting games to mobile with innovative touch controls and asynchronous co-op play. Kotaku called it « the definitive beat-em up of the mobile age of gaming ». Partnering with Capcom they were able to add the heavyweights from Street Fighter 2 and Viewtiful Joe into the game. In 2014, the team developed a TMNT brawler for mobile for Nickelodeon and Paramount. The game launched with Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie. SQUIDS Odyssey, the compilation of the two SQUIDS games (and more!) was then released for Wii U™ and Nintendo 3DS™ in 2014. The team is now working on FURI, a beat them all for console and PC, which should be revealed end of 2015.
