Napoleonic Era Team company

Napoleonic Era was originally started at the German Age of Empires community age-community.net by Alexander Flegler (Kastor/Alexastor), who was in spite of his own ideas inspired by his friend Jahn H. (Twister3) to add a Swiss civilization to the game. Napoleonic Era soon grew from this and was getting discussed more frequently at the forums of Age of Empires III Heavengames (AoE3H). After the release of version 0.2 he got supported by Fernando Barbosa (Walker), who discussed many ideas to improve and balance the game and was soon made balance lead.

A while after the release of version 0.8, Matthew Sher (Imperiosus) worked with modder Xentelian to complete his Unit Upgrades Modpack. Seeing Matthew's impressive texture work, Kastor successfully requested him to become Napoleonic Era's graphics lead. David Rosehnal, having planned to make a campaign about the Napoleonic Era, has made and maintained the old NE website. After napoleonic-era.net was hacked, Michael M. (michfrm) took his place and created the new NE website with a new design. Peter Piepenburg (Tilanus Commodor), a historically interested forumer from the age-community.net, joined the team as researcher, community manager and advisor. Jan (Seraphim), the last member of this first NE team, started as balancer and coder and soon took the lead over the project as Kastor's attention was increasingly slipping away to other projects. The last release of this team generation was version 2.01 on 16th June in 2009

After a long downtime the project was picked up again in February 2010 by former advisor and community manager Tilanus Commodor, who has been continuing the project since then. A new project philosophy and team was initialized. Valentin P. (Ca Putt), who has already been formerly helping at working out a concept for the Germans, became more and more important as advisor for game design and content decisions. Attracted by the reanimated project and the call for support the technically and artistically talented Guillaume P. (Yomgui), AI Scripter Richard F. (Zephyr_Arsland) and - yet another forumer of the age-community.net - tools programmer Da Bozz joined the team. The last entry to the new core team was Emanuele (DK_BadReputation), who's helping the project at analyzing and balancing new and old content.

The new NE team returned to the original European setting

Since the very beginning of NE, specialized members such as the RM scripters RF_Gandalf and AOE_Fan, unit texturer SaintElysse or concept artist Arcturus have always been signed up to improve or expand particular aspects of the mod. Next to the persistent NE core team, these NE assistants, that mostly perform temporary tasks, form the unit that is directly involved in the making of NE.
