Ok, so disclaimer: I hate Misery. Misery makes me miserable and while Anomaly is a great game seeing the Misery UI every day makes it less great but no one else was doing anything about it and I wasn't doing anything at all so I decided to change that. I've cleaned up the Inventory, Trading, Repair, Cooking, Workshop and Skinning screens. Giving them a cleaner steel texture with some fabric inserts so that they more closely match the new crafting screen UIs, removed some of the weird broken wires and pointy bits and just in general smoothed them out a bit. Here. Let me show you.
Compatible with Update 4.
UPDATE v.2: I have further refined the UI so that the steel is more apparent and have expanded the overhaul to encompass the entire User Interface. Now every screen you look at will be coated in glorious steel! I have also included a compatibility patch for AA2 users. Good news Minimalist HUD users! It's compatible by default since Minimalist HUD doesn't alter any texture files!
UPDATE v.2.1: Updated the Inventory screens so that they are more in line with the rest of the windows and tweaked them to be a little darker so that weapons and other items could be more easily seen. Altered the Transparent version to be more transparent. Added a new folder that contains different cursor styles.

UPDATE v2.2: Finally found and fixed the annoying floating description box so that's all nice and clean now too. Added the new texturing to ALL of the buttons as well.
UPDATE v2.3: Further refined detailing on the Inventory Screen. Fixed up the trade screen just a little. Added shading to some windows to try to mitigate the appearance of white lines.
UPDATE v2.4: Fixed a minor texture issue that was causing a white line to appear in the trade menu.
UPDATE v2.4b: Quick fix to make it compatible with Update 3. Due to my current work schedule I most likely won't be able to actually work on this until this weekend at the earliest and still might take some time to push out a full update. All I did is remove ui_actor_menu.dds. If you want to make it compatible without downloading the newest version that's all you need to do as well. You should be able to find it in gamedata/textures/ui

UPDATE v2.5.1: Fixed a few issues that some people were having with the new textures including cleaning up how scratched up the metal in the inventory was. It should look more like previous versions now.

and yes misery has a lot of bugs and chit but anomaly and dead air have them just like misery

You haven't seen a lot of UI addons for other stalker mods have you? The large majority of them are clean. Not all rusty looking with exposed wiring and jagged metal sticking out of the UI. Misery is the only mod I've seen that has a UI like that and it's out of place in Anomaly.

Could add a optional bigger crosshair? Yours is nice and slick, but impairs the menu selection a bit :)
Crosshair is derived from HUD files, afaik. Nothing in this mod touches HUD files because I want this to be as compatible as possible with other mods.
I think they meant cursor, not crosshair, the cursor is a bit on the small side.
Ah. I might be able to add some optional crosshairs.

Try using WinRAR.
For now only the hover-field remains rusted, I mean the description of an item, not the details you can right click. Please make it the same way transparent as your inventory screen, so we can see what item belongs to with gun or armor.

Hey man, love what you did with the HUD and appreciate your general disdain for misery that i also share ;) I'd like to ask you: would you be willing to port the COP HUD to Anomaly? Someone already did that for COC (here: Moddb.com) but Anomaly changed the file structure and the way textures are placed in the texture atlas so when i tried to replace it with the COP one, it didn't work. Could you help me out?

That's due to how the engine stretches the texture based off the size of the description window. Unfortunately there's not a lot I can do about it to make it look good at that size without making it look like a brick on smaller windows.

Oh, and also: that's some good work, thank you for the effort - I never liked misery's rusty rust...
I was considering doing something similar but honestly I like where the textures are right now. If I get annoyed by it enough I might look into changing it into something that be better looking.
