You've been sent out on a mission to investigate a first generation UAC facility that sent out a distress signal. You must first brave the harsh martian canyons to get there.
Update 1: Second Level added.
Update 2: Maps 3,4,5,and 6 added.
ok i just played youre two levels and i have some good and semi bad opinions.
1. maps are a good size but their is not enough enemys, you could add like a metric ton of enemy's with how big the maps are.
2.i love the style of maps that you are going for.
3.last but not least, the ammount of ammo you get in each level is not enough. i ran out of ammo like 3 times on the first map.
i hope to see more from you, you have great potential. and i hope this isnt all you are gonna make.
I'll take that into consideration as I keep working I just added 4 new maps if you wanna check them out. Next update will address ammo issues cause even I've noticed it as I play through Thank you so much for downloading and adding your two cents!
It's pretty damn good, that's what I can say. This map never felt unfair yet I do think that of all weapons, the Plasma Rifle shouldn't be carried by player-like enemies. Nor should rockets. It's much better if the Chaingun or Shotgun would be used.
I also appreciate the usage of wide doors. However, I don't feel like there's enough secrets. Maybe there is but I was too lazy to press tab to see how many secrets there were. I feel like the boss battle with the Cyberdemon was very well done; enough items to get you through. You have the Soulsphere for people who want a challenge and Invincibility for those wanting a fair fight.
Also, to compare this map to another community created map pack, "The Plutonia Experiment" (It wasn't made by iD.) I feel like this is miles ahead. The amount of Revnants and Mancubi (Mancubus plural.) is more fair. Only 4 Revnants and 2 Mancubi appeared in the entire WAD on Ultra-Violence.
However, I cannot stress this enough for map WADs that have a story and aren't a one-trick-pony to edit the MAPINFO to give names and possibly text intermissions to contextualize the levels and remove nonsensical text intermissions, after the Cyberdemon boss you shouldn't be met with a story about the Starship or whatever that has nothing to do with what's going on.
Great map with amazing potential if polished and buffered. 7/10.
Thank you so much for your thoughts! This is my first foray into anything having to do with doom mapping so I had no idea you could change the level names but that is something I will definitely add in the next update of this! Your right that there aren't many secrets (I think 3 or 4 total in the whole wad) I didn't stop to think about clever secret spots when I made the maps so that's something I'll have to think about moving forward.
Now, from what I've played, which is about four levels, it really isn't bad. It is pretty fun. If I were to say something, I would say there are too many big rooms. Try making some smaller rooms, and include hallways and such. Overall, not bad, it was fun.
Imqges.... Where are they? People shoulf be made to display thrm so we kbow what were downloafing!
Okay I'll get right on it!
