This is a mod that fundamentally changes the early game for most factions.
I always loved the concept of a fresh start as a stalker being difficult - coming into The Zone all dirty, out of supplies, no intel to get around with, however I think Anomaly by default sucks at capturing this. I also felt like some of the items added in the Western Goods addon were slightly underrated and deserved to be used and have a place in a complete beginners' kit.
Therefore - I combined a few mods with some of my works for the ultimate Tough Start.
- All factions now have different starting loadouts. You will finally have a use for the GPS Tracker and lighter from the Western Goods addon. Some factions will have more access to Western Goods, whereas some will have very little. All factions now have a different set of items they start with.
- The game will start not at 9 AM, but at 9:30 PM. This will make the first rush to a safezone much more intense.
- New starting locations for Bandits, stalkers, renegades and Clear Sky. Now these factions will have new starting locations for both story and non-story modes. This also removes the ability to start the game far in the north with all starting locations sticking in the southern parts of The Zone.
- Although this requires further testing, the military spawns in the Cordon were increased.
- All factions start with very little money.
This mod is also available as a standalone mod, but together with this I have packaged a few mods I think are essential to make the early game much more fun:
- Western Goods (it was a requirement)
- Haruka skills system (i recommend getting "Skills Expanded" for this separately)
- Less infuriating Hip (she now provides more useful early-game tasks)
- Loot claim (will help prevent the player from getting a good rifle from looting post-firefight too early on)
- Passive income (this is to encourage the player to stick to the southern traders of The Zone)
- First Day in Cordon (to make some mutant spawns around the Cordon less brutal)
Some future plans:
- Further improve the current features, mostly working on new locations and spawns.
- Reworking new spawn locations for ALL factions.
- Making some of the military in the Cordon passive to the player.

Only after uploading did I realize that the cover art says "fresh start" and not "tough start". This is what happens when you do this at 4 AM

there's even a jacket in the starter kit and it's called a hard start. Lol.
jacket is **** anyways only that little extra carry weight
you're wrong, in some difficult starts, you have to choose a jacket by spending points on it.
I could very well make the jacket smth you have to buy with points. Thanks for the idea!
