It is compatibile with JSRS?

JSRS adds config files with different paths to specific shot sounds, adding this ported mod on top of JSRS would require deleting /gamedata/config/items/weapons/weapon_sounds to work - without it, the taz 2.0 sounds wouldn't be recognized in config files

It's good!!! Could you add this to jsrs or make a port of taz3.0 that would be great:)

Are the gunshots quieter / same levels / lauder than stock anomaly?

Genuine question if anyone could shine some light - gunshots are already nearly too laud in the stock game as is.

Oftentimes such mods make those even lauder for apparent 'realism' and immersion, contributing to sneaky development of tinnitus overtime for headphone users.

they are much louder, raw, metallic and realistic.

right now, only files modified are sound itself, but depending on community feedback, modifying shot volume level shouldn't be a problem, as long as i would be able to create it in most standalone way possible or with specific patches for other weapon mods

hey, thanks for a quick and reasonable answer.

In this case, if you feel it wouldn't be too much work for you, let me kindly request an ear-friendly version, that is about 25% QUIETER than the vanilla game. That way one could hear the environment ambience well and crisp without putting their long-term eardrums health at risk.

This is obviously not any sort of a critique aimed at you, but let me make a little cautionary point here for any gamer: tinnitus is real, it creeps up on you through years of gaming and once it happens it does so suddenly, without prior notice and is there to stay for the rest of your life.

I've tried to warn some folk on few forums but it mostly fell on deaf ears if you forgive the pun and usually effected a childish response of the sort of 'you're obviously an idiot and went too laud' or 'you just wanted to cheat at PUBG'. The reality is it's just years of gaming with regular volume and your ears being exposed to gunshot blasts. Till one day you get a ringing in your ear and it will never again go away.

So, if you can muster the strength, a -25% volume version relative to the vanilla volume would produce you some good karma.

thanks for a nice mod bud, take care of your ears people, shoot guns responsibly ;)

If you could make a patch or something for Blindside's that would be sweeeeet. The gunshot sound works but blindside's changes the reload sounds and this changes it back to defaults. If not I can try my hand at merging files for once.

Blindside's user here also. This may be a truism as you may know how to already, but if you will, use winmerge app, open both files side by side and it'll show you the exact spots where the difference is. As a second step, if you were so kind as to reduce the volume levels on those samples to the same as vanilla or slightly quieter ;)

I don't get why you would want to install my old taz 2.0 sounds when you can import JSRS ones, TAZ 3.0 ones, or just upgrade sound gear... or do a mix of this.

I havent been in touch touch with TAZ 3.0 cause I got constant CTD's on load

JSRS sounds itself (at least in my point of view) lacks that realistic sound punch while providing layering system which in combine with different weapon mods require patching and merging conflicts

this port was created to be as standalone as possible, because the only things that are changed based on vanilla files are the shot sounds itself loaded from extracted gamedata folder (without any modification to paths or layer sound declaration)
