Is there a non-dltx version?
There isn't, but you could paste the changes the mod makes yourself, the relevant file is "configs/items/settings/death_generic.ltx". The whole point of DLTX is to avoid this kinda manual merging work though.

Nice addon. I believe that modmakers can use dltx more in their mods.
It is now possible to convert already existing mods into DLTX format nearly completely automatically now, which makes mod merging a whole lot easier now and doesn't require you to wait for modders to release a new version of their mods. Check out the DLTX page for instructions.
How to install it? Using Mod Organizer or just put it into gamedata
