Replaces the death screams or death gurgles for all NPCs with silence or with "FATALITY" as proclaimed by Shao Khan. Optional game over sounds.
What this is
In Stalker, people perform their dramatic over-acted death scream or gurgle after they die. I am not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure people scream and / or gurgle before they die, and then they just sort of stop. I think.
This replaces the death screams or death gurgles for all NPCs with silence. Or with Shao Khan proclaiming a fatality. Also includes a game over sound. Actually 4 distinct game over sounds, since the actor (that is you!) has 4 death screams.
Recommended for use with Death Animations and Wepl's hit effects. This combination makes hitting headshots satisfyingly definitive. There's a delightful sense of finality that is not to be understated. Hmyes.
Installation
Unpack the gamedata folder of your preference into CotZ folder and overwrite. I left the original death screams in the vanilla folder, so you can restore if you want to. You owe it to yourself to give Shao Khan a try. It's so dumb. :D I'd post a video but I don't want to spoil it!
Issues
None that I know of. It's a direct content replacer so there should be no incompatibilities. Silence works best for kills, but I don't think I'll ever get tired of the game over sounds. They're great.

Hah. I should make a replacer that makes your character's death scream this. Or maybe I shouldn't.
Tbh, the gurgle and/or screams work better for the npc that is in an injured state rather than for a death moment.. this is a very welcome addon..

Just a heads up: I neglected to properly ogg comment the files, so they'll spam your console with notifications. Update coming later today, and to make up for it, I'll include a "FATALITY" option for gits and shiggles.

Unless someone manages to provide a combo counter for successive kills and / or headshots within a time limit. Then I'd have to have Shao Khan get progressively more excited with each successive kill. But nobody wants that, I'm sure.
damn this is so helpful since i use openal soft w/ hrtf. without this the death sounds plays in the wrong direction. ^_^
Hah, someone mentioned it! This is the real reason I made it. The same thing happens with hardware accelerated EAX, it's so jarring.
