Mercenaries now speak and shout in German voices.
Following dramatic events in the Zone at 2011-2013 and general instability in Ukraine after 2014, the government and military of Germany became very concerned about the instability in the Zone and decided to carry out an operation within the zone to prevent many precious zone secrets and treasures to fall in the wrong hands. The German secret service created Zonenstreitkraft - Zone Armed Forces and landed sizable force in the zone. Their main objective was mercenary faction, mostly Russians, they captured their bases and outposts, exterminated the resistance and made survivors to became part of the new mercenary management under German command. Soon stalkers started to notice German speaking mercs and by that time, the Zonenstreitkraft had established itself in a zone. There I tried to make good story out of it. Now to details.
This mod replaces most mercenary adjacent voice sound files, from voices from games like Sudden Strike 2, Blitzkrieg, WW1, Wolfenstein 3d, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Hidden and Dangerous 2, Forgotten Hope 2 and Men of War. Replaced are mainly all combat phrases, healing phrases, wounded phrases and killing wounded phrases. Also idle phrases and some greetings (when talking to non leader stalker (jaeger). What is not replaced is occasional gossips, jokes and music phrases as they are shared by most stalkers in the game. They just try to mimic and pretend they are not Ukrainians or Russians. As these voices are no way original S.T.A.L.K.E.R related voices, as the German versions had just quest lines in German language, don't expect them to sound as same as vanilla Russian mercenaries. They will sound like usual German soldiers that they are meant by this mod idea. Sometimes they might sound too creepy, well that's because of the zone affects them.
Additionally for immersion the dynamic news English text messages have been edited, to clearly identify the mercs as Germans, or some stalker slang like fritz, krauts and invaders. And some Germanisms for mercenary messages.
Updated to address the volume issues, by editing with SAVANT editor and did amplification for most of the sound files. Works with 1.5.1 newest version.
If you still find the German voices too quiet then can amplify them more using Audacity amplify option. Right now they sound in same level as other game voices in Russian or Ukrainian.
Installation: copy gamedata in the anomaly folder.
The dynamic news installation is separate and optional in case if you have some kinda mod that changes the dynamic news content for its own purposes.
Tested on last patched version of the Anomaly standalone mod.

''Reichsapfel:
wearing this artifact makes your skin hard as kruppstahl!!!''
At first I thought: what a great addon, I must have it!
But after playing a bit I must say I'm disappointed. Voicelines are awfully quiet compared to standard voices, some of them are pretty weird ("GUTEN TAG!!!!") and I think they should be a bit similar to each other, now it's loose collection of random lines in German. Also I really liked rough voices of mercs in vanilla Anomaly, they're great and it might be pretty difficult to find a good replacement.
It has a potential, though. I always liked the idea of english voices for mercs and I think german is even better. I'd love to see that mod in improved version. For now 6/10
Only thing that can be improved is volume, but that is very individual thing for each, his or her hearing range and audio equipment he uses, like headphones or speakers, I have myself very good hearing and also in such game as stalker, too load means you get distracted and killed.
Now second, about random lines mein herr... I suppose you don't understand either Russian nor German. I know Russian almost fully, and German not so groß, but these "rough voices" are first very standard combat lines like enemy detected, fire on the target, cover me, get a grenade, only in very Russian manner of speaking. Now I dont know if you read anything in that description - but all the lines here for this very reason are from WW2 themed shooters and strategy games - and dont take me for some dumbkoff there - I did not just replace them with something random. THESE ARE ALSO STANDARD GERMAN INFANTRY COMBAT LINES! While yes, I used various games, some way older than this game, they all have their own limitations, yes ofc classic Wolfenstein 3D are for the lols, but I tried hard to match all these Geraman infantry combat lines to match the phrases according the situations they were made tough. As I understand Russian all the NPC's say or shout for me is perfectly understandable so I knew what I must pick and what I must replace. So fine sir, first try to learn basic Russian and then also file structures and audio issues. Then you might yourself wold make a good English mercenaries voice addon. Verstanden?
I have tried my best to adjust the volumes in par with the new version, but the voice lines for the reasons I explained in detail will stay as they are.
can i see a preview please
Does it affect UNISG voices as well? I think UNISG and Mercs use the same voice files.
I havent played this mod in a while. Last I remembered that it affects partially. Lots of UNSIG's were talking in Russian and some in German.
