There was already done open scopes mod. It is part of „Dead Air Tweaks” by Passive&Agressive;. I personally use a few parts of this addon including open scopes. It has also nice scope for Steyr Aug. Check this out.

Mentioned this in the description. This is for those who just want the open scopes without all the difficulty changes that the whole pack brings, simplicity at its best =)

Now if only the ADS sway didn't make scopes feel so useless

Have you tried holding your breath with alt? (or whatever keybinding it is)
There is also an addon to remove the sway, havent tried it myself tho.

Go to \Deadair\gamedata\configs\misc and find effectors.ltx and open it with notepad, scroll all the way to the bottom and find

"[zoom_inertion_effector]

camera_move_epsilon = 0.0 ;the difference between the two vectors is the direction the camera when the camera is moved
disp_min = 0.0
speed_min = 0
zoom_aim_disp_k = 0.0 ;odds ratio of the total variance of shooting
zoom_aim_speed_k = 0.00 ;and wiggle sight
delta_time = 900 ;time at which the effector changes the direction of motion (in milliseconds)"

Change everything to 0, this completly disables sway with iron sights and scopes. It is perfectly still.

You can hold sprint button (default "x") to reduce sway.

Is there a way to have open scopes but in such a way that everything around the scope is
EITHER not zoomed in also
OR at least blurred
OR both
?

Otherwise it doesn't make much sense since you can see everything clearly and zoomed in outside of the scope also which feels like a bit of a cheat. Which is probably why Dead Air guys left it as black.

thanks, would really love them open but not at the price of having everything zoomed and crystal clear.

Unfortunately I wouldn't know how to do that, but I do know what you mean. If I ever get come across new better textures or I do them myself I will make sure to add them next update!

Thanks for the answer, I'd suspected as much - if someone was to know how to do it, it'd already have been incorporated since there's already a good blur filter in the game.
Would be great to see it one day!
best

Hello! there's a bug that basically consists of that i can't aim with the iron sights of any weapon. When i did install the mod, in my game i was using a Ak-47 and when i tried to aim, well... the zoom was ridiculous.

I also tried to put the Texture Detail all high i could to fix it, but it doesn't work. Can someone give me his vanilla files? i didn't make a backup...

Hey! Sorry for the delay.

It sounds to me like you had a little problem installing the texture pack since you get the zoom on iron sights, or maybe it's an error with another file but it's definetely the first time I hear that. I tried recreating this error but it didn't happen at all.

Try to reinstall the textures (all the files in the gamedata folder) and overwrite ANY file that it asks you to overwrite. If that doesn't work send me a list of your addons that could possibly be conflicting with this one.

is there anyway someone can convert these scopes to ultrawide, pls? or at least point me the way so i can do it myself... don't get me wrong, the scopes are fantastic but they just looks really silly and out of place in ultrawide monitors!
