I guess this is poorly rated by some guy who thinks that just because a helicopter is deafeningly loud in real life it should be in game as well? Christ if it bothers ya that much dude just rationalize that your guy has ear plugs.
That aside, good work dude! I personally don't play with helos on due to, like you said, their sadistic nature. But they do get quite loud! Was always nice shooting them down back in Call of Chernobyl just to quite down the area. In short, I understand Spore's pain.
Oh yeah helis in real life are stupid loud, buy I'm not trying to go real life deaf from a video game. To be honest I'm not concerned about the poor rates. If people like it then that's awesome if not they don't have to use it.

It's really not "quieter".. not really. It's actually rather louder and more ear piercing with excessive high pitch noise mixed in for some reason.
