weapons in anomaly are not well distributed, many weapons in game never see the daylight on any stalker's hands. in vanilla stalker a master or legend npc was set to carry many novice rank weaponry which did not make any sense, now it has been taken to another level.
every faction has completely changed npc loadouts based by rank.
from novice to legend everything has been redone.
Now made specially for 1.5.1 version.
the army are equipped basically with warsaw pact weaponry, some nato stuff but few weapons to better fit for russian/ukranian troops arsenal.
Monolith/UNISG are the factions who have the strongest arsenal of them all, zombies can have access to all arsenal in-game since we do not know who they were before becoming zombified, makes sense for them to have a good weapon or a crap weapon.
Bandits and Renegades have the least exotic arsenal but they can be well equipped on higher ranks just not so well equipped as the rest of the factions.
duty is based on warsaw pact weaponry and can also have the TOZ 34 bull shotgun at high tiers as they tend to like hunting mutants down.
Clear sky and Loners are balanced only on higher tiers they get to see the good stuff
Steyr AUG A3, Famas F3, M60 machine gun, HK 417 that used to be disabled in-game are used in the loadouts also so they can see the daylight, PKM Zulus was not attainable not even traded by nimble, now on master/legend ranks there is a chance of it appearing.
the weapons were made to have random attachments or not have attachments at all, meaning they can have a weapon without any addon or a scoped one or a scoped one with grenade launcher, suppressor etc..
installation:
-extract to anomaly base game folder
-in case of using any more mods simply extract to gamedata/configs/items/settings/npc_loadouts
-is compatible with any mod you're using (even if it is already present a npc loadouts folder simply replace it) and since it is lightened up compared to the vanilla one the load on the cpu is a little less than it used to be.
V1.5.1: Entirely remade from scratch using the original Anomaly V1.5.1 files in order to be fully compatible with the newest version.
Note: Sometimes in V1.5.1 the inventory release management system may bug out and you end up with a weapon in the inventory that trying to sell/drop/right-click etc... any interaction with that particular weapon causes instant CTD, it occurred to me twince in hundreds of hours of play and now i do not carry looted weapons for too long, i sell them right away so they do not end up a lot of time in my inventory as that seems to have an influence, so far that was enough for me not to have that CTD, something changed since RC15 that caused this bugs to happen, on version U4H8 it never occurred, in version 1.5.1 it is extremely rare but can still happen, i do not know how to fix it otherwise i would've done it immediately, instead i informed the game devs on discord/bugs section a few times about that bug where i supplied the logs/dumps/savegame with bug present, maybe next update will have it fixed 100% for now sorry if it happens, there really is nothing i can do about it.

it is recommended to start a new game so the configs start to work from day one, it can be used with existing saves but will only take effect on new spawns.
Now this is something that I like to see. Like WHY THE **** A MILITARY GENERAL WOULD WALK AROUND THE ZONE IN AN EXO SUIT USING AN AK-74U THAT HAS 1% DURABILITY WITH AMMO WHICH WAS STOLEN FROM LENIN'S GRAVE!!! Some masters and legends had such a bad gear that it made me laugh my *** of when I saw them attacking me. No more Nosrog suited TOZ wielding mad lads.
But it was the other way around. When a loner rookie has an LR300 modded with acog is kinda stupid in my opinion.
The only thing that I do no understand with this addon is the SIN faction... Monolith has their own production line, while the UNISG is kinda NATO in the zone. But how would the member of the SIN faction get the same arsenal as the Monolith or the UNISG? It kinda makes no sense. Maybe I am wrong but they are kinda mutated test subjects in the zone (plus some who decided ending humanity is fun) with no connection outside, no decent relation with any of the larger factions. Maybe the monolith would support them, but I don't think they would give them their top noch gear, unless they treat them as a "special force" of their. But that's not what the in-game guide sais, yet this is only my opinion and I am not an über faction expert.
Just saying, NPCs do drop weapons in a damaged state upon death but in reality they are actually at a high durability state, the game is scripted to drop you damaged equipment when NPCs are killed, so you're forced to repair or dissasemble anything you find isntead of getting it for "free" (you can test this too by accessing an NPC's inventory with the debug console or a mod).
Onto the actual topic, i'd like too an explanation as for why Sin has top equipment, i haven't completed the faction storyline yet though, but it doesn't make much sense.
I know how stupid the vanilla system is in-game with dropped weapons, so I installed an addon which decides the durability based on the rank of the NPC
Yet I still managed to came across General Somebody, who had an upgraded Exo armor, yet armed with an old AK-74U while using damaged ammo... and he didn't even dropped the guns since I wounded him first.
But it wasn't as annoying as the randomity of the other stalker's gear... a Clear Sky legend with a Exo and Toz
A veteran Duty soldier with a Mosin and Bullat
A rookie loner, with jacket and a god darn modern AK-74M
And my favourite was the mercenary death squad which was sent after me, whoes had 3 exo guys, and one SEVA guy, all 4 armed with M9 pistol... REALLY?!
when you get to the mortal sin story you see why, sin are friends of monolith they fight side by side so makes sense for them to have similar arsenal/firepower.
don't forget the fact that sin is friend of monolith so for them having similar arsenals makes sense.
but then again for an example, Italy and Germany was an ally in WWII, yet Italy did not bolster the same arsenal as Germany. Due to their small size, and even the monolith is losing power day by day which is stated by the ingame guide. Losing a war makes it even harder to supply an ally. Having the gear quality between the loners and the monolith seems the most logical way for.
Don't get me wrong. I really like your addon. You won't belive how happy I am to see a merc with a modded rifle, and decent armor, instead of an exo merc with a mosin and a butter knife... I also saw your code, and it's really easy to modify it to your own taste which is also a plus in my book.

Funny I was going to do an addon regarding this issue as well! Great job from what I can see by looking in the file. I made a few small adjustments of my own to it however, nothing major but mostly in regards to Sin.

it is done for the people who don't like SIN to be as powerful as monolith SIN is reworked so as to have less powerful gear, now they are not nearly as well equipped as monolith, most weapons they have are warsaw pact rifles and some nato medium tier rifles balanced to their ranks, master and legend ones do have some good weapons also but nothing like monolith..

it is compatible it wont crash the game the problem is that BnS weapons will not be spawned because i am not using that mod and as such i haven't included them in the npc spawn list...sorry maybe later when i can resolve the fov issue with BnS that is very annoying i will include them in the spawn list....
Ukrainian soldiers use NATO weapons. It would be more logical to leave them the old line of weapons.
This is one of the best must have addons I've ever downloaded out of the dozens for Anomaly! One thing I had to tweak however was enabling Duty soldiers using the Toz Bull shotgun to also drop Bull slugs on their dead bodies in the death_generic config file. For consistency too I changed a trade config so now the Duty trader sells the Bull and its ammo at the 2nd highest trading tier. The only other thing wrong is that pistol variation that npcs have is kind of neglected. high quality 45 acp weapons show up too much on many mid tier enemies, and glocks spawn way too often. Fnx 45 Tactical customs couldn't even spawn so I manually had to add those for each config. Some other pistols and many of their custom and alt sub variations are neglected as well and barely if ever show up like Colt variations for example. I spent 4 hours tweaking some things for my own personnel taste (mostly pistols). Other than those problems the enemies have a lot more fascinating and realistic diversity of weapons. The anomaly devs need to take notes more than normal from this addon. I am also using the True Barrett M82 and MP7 addon with this so I customly tweaked monolith Gauss snipers to also sometimes have M82s, and after extensive testing and messing around some parts of the game are going to be much more nightmarish than before. I'm extremely above average skill wise, and I was getting bored of npcs with crap weapons being too easy to kill but now this addon will add more challenge and depth combined with some AI tweak addons. m5spiritonfire did a really good job even if there are some kinks. Thanks for making an amazing must have addon I never know I needed!
thank you a lot i'm glad you enjoyed that much, it is true pistols are not as well balanced as the rest of the arsenal but the main problem is that you put 10 pistols in a list, for example
-Glock19
-Colt M1911
-Beretta 92FS
-Walther P99
-FN Five-seven
and out of them all most of the times the game picks glock as a secondary npc weapon, it can be retweaked to anyone's taste of course, since you tweaked the files a good lot to your taste and spent a few hours doing it, you can imagine how much hours were needed to do everything in all of the files (yet it is still not perfect)
by the way to all people enjoying the mod soon i will include some missing weapons and repost the file
-protecta aim (a normal protecta shotgun with a scope with white dot sight)
-two AK variants (one with camouflage and a fixed scope the other has rpk magazine and fixed eotech scope)

Seems all the other weapons are loading just fine except "wpn_apb"?
i also get that error what happens is the apb is disabled by default in-game because it is an incomplete weapon, it has an inventory icon, has all the shooting animations, sounds, but still doesn't have meshes and proper textures, so for now i removed it from the loadouts.

Hmmmm, the military is using too many weapons of the NATO weaponry. I think that they should have setups similar to Duty, especially considering that they're part from the Ukraine/Russia army and part from Spetsnaz/OMON soldiers.
easy, should i tweak the file so that the army are equipped only with warsaw pact weaponry instead? i am posting another version soon which will focus more on pistol balancing among ranks and i can retweak the army to use warsaw pact weaponry only and post it as an optional along the next version...
download this instead and replace the file on gamedata/configs/items/settings/npc_loadouts with this one, then start a new game and enjoy the army with warsaw weaponry

it is compatible with whatever mod you're using, simply replace the same files even if npc_loadouts is already present and voila it is working so far it is very easy to get working and it spares a bit of processing power on the cpu since in vanilla the configs were larger and often repeated, so the text was reduced a lot the game appreciates that also, less code lines to read on the game engine and above all you get the fun stuff
While the Ukrainian army does for the most part use warsaw pact weaponry and nowadays a lot of their own made weaponry, they still use a few western weapons too. It makes sense that since Ukraine is pro-west nowadays that they will buy weapons from the west more often. You can find Ukraine's military equipment on wikipedia pretty easily, it lists pretty much all of the equipment they use currently. So i hope you don't just remove all western weaponry from their loadouts.
Hello! Im kinda interested in this addon, but does this work with modded Anomaly?
it works but do not use RC18 or RC19 versions, you have to use U4/H8 version since there is a bug with the release script in the inventory manager which causes the game to CTD when you try to drop/sell some looted weapons (it does not happen with U4/H8, only with RC18/RC19)

yes it is done but instead of releasing it alone i joined it with my warzone mod, so now it is warzone V4+NPC Rank weapon loadouts RC23 version (testing with anomaly v1.5.1 now to see if the files need to be entirely redone again...), also the inventory release bug that was causing ctd's in RC18 and RC19 is fixed apparently as i have never run into that bug again...

This addon is mutually-exclusive with Rowans Rebalanced NPC Squad Loadouts, since both addons do the same thing. RRNPCSL is more expansive, thanks to an optional BaS compatibility patch, so I'll go with it instead of NRWL.

sorry but i am not thinking of adding BaS to the loadouts, i was expecting TAZ 3.0 to be fully complete and i would redo the loadouts for TAZ weaponry, unfortunately the mod had so much work into it and so much potential and was abandoned....such a pity, i hope someday someone completes TAZ 3.0...
