Bigger radius, longer range with new textures for the flashlight and headlamps. See below for more info...
Heavily inspired by the Pip-Boy Flashlight mod for Fallout 4 by AKcelsior. The name says it all, a simple modification that makes the flashlight and headlamps nicer by increasing the radius and range along with some new textures I've included. Pictures for showcasing each variants are now in their respective folders. There are 41 different variants:
Alex - this is just my own little preset. not that interesting really.
Blair Witch 2019 - inspired by the flashlight from the 2019 Blair Witch game made by Bloober Team, for those who like to get lost in the Red Forest.
Blood - inspired by an old CS:S mod i saw on Gamebanana back in the day, your light sources have been given a good showering of human and mutant blood. for those who prefer the ol... ultra violent.
Broken 1 - 2 - your light sources have seen better days, yet it still chugs on like a champion. for those who will not give up no matter the circumstances.
Clean 1 - 5 - spotless and unobstructed textures for those who scrub their equipment too often.
DL2 - short for Dying Light 2, this is a recreation of the flashlight seen in footage of the game taken around 2021 (this game literally went through 4-5 different iterations of the flashlight so i just ended up using the nicest looking one.)
FC6 - short for Far Cry 6, this is yet another recreation of the flashlight seen in the game, especially inside caves.
Fringe - replicates the look of much more older and flawed flashlights where they would have very subtle red, green and maybe blue fringing on the edges.
Imperfect 1 - 11 - messy and flawed textures for those who just absolutely despise the clean look on literally anything.
Isolation - uses Alien: Isolation's headlamp texture as a base and remixes it to something familiar yet new. for those who seek the thrill of getting chased by a Xenomorph again in Sevastopol again except its actually a Bloodsucker in X-19
KEKW - you know who this is.
LED - replicates the look of LED flashlights when they have a focused beam of light, especially ones with focusing rings. for those who dig the look of the square light.
Maglite - based off of the real life maglite flashlights, or as i like to call them: "a beating stick that lights up".
Misery - the headlamp and flashlight texture from S.T.A.L.K.E.R Misery, a Call of Pripyat mod thats now discontinued. this texture has also appeared several times in other STALKER mods. for those who miss the mod and would like to bring a piece of it to Anomaly.
Original - the original Anomaly flashlight and headlamp textures for those who prefer it.
Police - based off of the many flashlights and headlamps used by law enforcement all over the world, for those who are police officers or those who like to be one, either in the game or in real life.
"Realistic" - these textures were originally made for GMOD to replace the stock flashlight texture with something nicer and higher resolution, then i decided to bring them to this addon. for those who like a dash of realism in their lights.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R 1 & 2- the headlamp texture from the original 3 S.T.A.L.K.E.R games for those who are nostalgic and want a piece of history with them.
Source - a pretty recognizable flashlight texture that has been used in some Source Engine games and mods before (most notably is Half Life 2, Insurgency, CS:S, etc). for those who like to add a bit of Source Engine flair to it.
Square 1 - 2 (Headlamp Only): replaces the headlamp texture with a more rectangular shaped one, for those who like to square up for a fight with the mutants.
Taclight - based on the many tactical light attachments for guns in real life, for those who like to get a bit tacticool in the Zone.
Unity - arguably one of the most used and most iconic texture used in the Unity 3D Game Engine. it can be seen in a plethora of games made on it over the last few years, it's found most often in horror games. for those who somehow love the texture a lot.
Vintage - replicates the look of old 40s - 50s vintage flashlights, before they started much more modern bulbs.
Weird - a rather odd texture to say the least, i really dont recommend this at all for normal gameplay since its too distracting unless you want to get... funky. you'll know soon enough.
- When using a mod that overwrites the flashlight config file, always make sure NFHA goes first before the mod.
- Additionally, when using an addon, always make sure it goes first and the variant of your choice second.
- If you encountered any problems using the mod with BaS or Stealth, I recommend checking mortymere's guide linked right here: Link to Drive

If you want to use any of the variants here in a public mod pack, credit would be highly appreciated.
I do not own most of the flashlight textures, all rights go to their respective owners listed down here.
If any owners find issues with me using their textures for this addon, please contact me and I'll remove it immediately.

wich image corresponds to wich texture?
if you hover your cursor over the images it says the different models
ah, i didn't know that.
does this have different illumination between headlamp and flashlight?
what do you mean by "different illumination"?
i mean, does the flashlight light more than the headlamp? or they are both equal?
the flashlight has a much shorter range and radius compared to the headlamp and vice versa
Do NPCs also utilize these higher lumen/brighter flashlights and headlamps? If you're using the Stealth mod, NPCs can see each other's lamps and will act accordingly.
yes other NPCs do utilize the new headlamps, also i havent tested out the Stealth mod but i think it should work without any problems since my addon mainly just changes the texture, radius and range.
i have been waiting for this
Works for DX8??
ive tested the addon on dx8 and for some reason the textures of the variants just doesnt seem to show up, only the Anomaly headlamp texture does. im currently trying to find a fix so it works on dx8. what i can tell you is that it does work flawlessly on d9, dx10 and dx11.
I'm using generic mod enabler and your addons seems to conflict with Broomstick and sharpstick.
It's says "items_devices.ltx" has already been altered by the "01. Boomsticks and Sharpsticks 23 Apr 1.5.1"
Is it safe to replace it with your addon?
I'm still new in modding and I'm really sorry if my question sounds stupid
Gave it a test and it's working, both with BaS and Stealth mods, but a few edits needed.
1. pick any version of Nicer Flashlights Addon.
2. copy "textures" folder into \Anomaly-1.5.1\gamedata
3. go to \Anomaly-1.5.1\gamedata\configs\items\items\ and make a backup of items_devices.ltx
3. manually edit already existing items_devices.ltx (created by BaS) with lines from item_devices.ltx (of Nicer Flashlights addon)
4. Look for "Flashlight" and "Torch" categories.
Also, be careful 'cos BaS already made few changes and added lines, make sure to keep'em otherwise mods will conflict.
Can upload and share edited .ltx for the reference.
alright someone need to upload the edited files as optional patch for those who used BaS.
Here is the link to full manual, along with edited categories. Once again, it should be done manually, use this one as a reference.
Drive.google.com
hey morty may i put this in the description of the mod for anyone thats using BaS? sorry if i didnt respond earlier about this i had to deal with school and what not.
Sure, no problem at all. It's totally open for a public)
And I'll try and keep the link up as long as possible.
Just a heads up for your next update. Please format the "Alternative" sound file packed in the mod, in the proper Stalker format, which is 44.1Hz, 32-bit, Mono channel. Otherwise you gonna crash peoples' games.
Thanks for the mod!
ah yeah i accidentally left those sound files in the recent update somehow. i always wondered why they didnt work. since i now have some more free time i think ill update the mod with the fixed files, thanks alot.
these look amazing, incredible work.
Really like the police one, kinda wanted to nerf my headlamp so used the flashlight texture for the headlamp too, now traveling at night feels more intense, thanks for this.
Hey mate, I loved your flashlights! I'm using your Unity texture and I tweaked the .ltx file to port it to OGSR/SoC platform. Do you mind if I publish my rip-off there!? Just think the flashlights there are seriously lacking and your flashlights are really a breath of fresh air. Let me know if you are ok with it and I'll publish.
go right ahead, just make sure you credit me.
Nice work, thank you!
Look nice, but there are more pics then options to choose from in the mod, so it's very hard to install the one you want. Would be much easier if you put a pic in the corresponding folders.
i never thought of that before. am working on it.
Is there anyway to change the flashlight tint to be blue-ish? Kinda sick of the default amber light. Loving this mod, btw!
i could make that as an optional addon.
I'm using the misery version and messing with the values myself. Sure, I wouldn't mind some help with that lol!
im currently trying to update the addon v1.5 but for some odd reason it just fails to upload every time. ill update this when it finally works properly.
updated
what would be mega awesome are gun-mounted flashlights.... no idea how this can be done but it would be terrific!!!!
ANNOUNCEMENT: this addon will be put on hold for about a month or two as my laptop is currently ******** itself right now. i should be able to get ahold of a newer, more powerful system and then i'll continue to update this.
update: im still stuck with the same laptop but done some tweaking to it so hopefully it wont corrupt anything. updating will resume.
Thank you so much for the mod.
I got the imperfect texture with blue light and flicker effect running together! - WinMerge magic.
Also had to use WinMerge to patch this mod with EFT Style Re-position [Boomsticks&Sharpsticks;] patch and Artefact Renovation BaS & Trader Overhaul Patch lol.
That damn items_devices.ltx file.
oh thats interesting, ive never heard of winmerge before.
just fyi, it loads 2 or 3 texts files at a time, side by side, so you can compare and contrast. It highlights differences between them and all ya gotta do is right-click and select what changes to overwrite or send over. Real easy and self explanatory.
Thank you for all the options
the idea of making a small little showcase video for this mod has been haunting my mind since the last 2 months while im busy with more school but i havent been able to find a proper way to showcase it. obviously its not going to be a slideshow since thats just boring as heck. it needs to be something not distracting and rather calm.
after 11 days i finally have found inspiration. now i just have to get familiar with davinci resolve and start updating this.
Do you think you could make a MCM menu for changing the flashlights in game?
i have no plans to make an mcm menu for the mod, for now anyways. im too caught up with some personal issues right now but ill keep it in mind.
The "Police" flashlight looks awesome!
10/10!
Anyone know which lines in the .ltx file edit the position of the lights? Some of mine or off center a bit
currently i dont know how to change the position of the lights, if theres even an option to change it at all. if i find a way ill immediately update it.
may i have clean three with a brighter center ? thanks <3
Does it already work with DX8?
it does work with dx8, theres probably something weird going on with your anomaly installation
