Have you ever arrived at a base after a long journey only to find the base in ruins with the bodies of the non respawning traders and mechanics on the floor? Or perhaps do you want to be a monolith member that all the traders still sell to because of your charming charisma?
Now you can!
With this simple mod you too can enjoy the luxury of not having dead traders that never respawn. Well atleast not to other hostile stalkers as all traders are now set to the neutral faction of "trader" and will not engage nor be engaged by other stalkers, they will also continue to sell to stalkers of a hostile faction.
However it doesn't make traders immortal so i guess mutants can still kill them depending on if they ignore the "trader" faction or not. But mutants are rarely the reason for them dying unless you have a addon which increases the mutant population to absurd levels in which case this won't help with that.
It also makes Hip friendly with Mercs and Military because why not?
Feedback is much appreciated for example how this interacts with goodwill and if that still applies properly to the proper factions. It should as a handfull of traders are already set to the "trader" faction yet scale with another faction like barkeep being neutral to all but gaining better goods after reaching higher free stalker goodwill so it should still apply.
If there is a trader that still isn't neutral or if someone becomes neutral when they shouldn't be let me know that too. There might be some special npc you want to see become neutral too and in that case i could try doing that too.
Install as you normally would by placing in the gamedata folder or preferably trough a mod manager, it shouldn't conflict with much other than maybe those that change Hip's faction as the files are seldom used for other mods but if it conflicts feel free to let me know.
Also feel free to do whatever with it, i just changed a few lines in the files for personal use and thought that others might want something like this as the old version of this addon hasn't been updated in forever.
To players who intend to install this mod in the future: If you have already installed IGI TASKS 2.10H1, it crashes when completing tasks from traders, as reported in the IGI TASKS comments, and it happened to me just now (e.g. Great Swamp).
I have installed the TRADER OVERHAUL ver NEUTRAL TRADERS, but the system is the same. (This mod has more changes to more NPCs, so the accidents are even less!)
The files are not conflicting, and it's not that one of the mods is bad.
I have no idea what the solution is.
IGI tasks tend to be buggy but for it to crash outright is strange. I can't really help as IGI is a much more complex mod while all mine does is change one variable in all traders from their normal faction to trader.
I have the same version of Igi Task and trader Overhaul, with neutral traders, and if I can do missions normally for each of them, but if I get an error in Igi's "good weapon" missions, they are "Anomalies" of the game

I tried it from the new game with Igi Task and trader Overhaul, with neutral traders, but it still caused an error for sure.
It happens in the Clear area of mutants task in LIBRARIAN.
However, it would be out of place to continue on this mod page, so I give up.
I play as Free Stalker, Story mode, and I have "trader Overhaul" version 1.26 (it's the previous one), B&S (updated March), and the installation of the different trader overhaul folders (outfits version-main folder, neutral trader , and the optional ones, B&S patch, new icons) each gamedata folder overwrites the previous one, if it is done like this it works. And my game is with 92 addons, the game is stable, and I play with a population level of 5 and mutants 2. Good luck.
So I can install this mod on Trader Overhaul + Netural Traders and it works?

I was interested in Hip friendly to Military.
This has no conflicts with trader overhaul. If there are special variants of trader overhaul then it might but i doubt it unless it specifically changes trader faction.
the best mod that I was waiting for, why the developers did not do this, I wonder if he also made important characters neutral, Wolf, fan, Sultana, etc.
They should be! Wolf Fanatic and Sultan are all set to trader. Along with others like General Voronin. If they aren't then something has gone wrong.
Leshiy from freedom base (travel guide) is ******* broken. He wandering army warhouses and getting killed all the time. Can you fix it? Or maybe do you know debug menu command, because we can change NPC factions in debug menu, but there is no traders faction
He should be neutral so I have no clue why this is happening. Is he attacking mutants or other stalkers?
I think this is a vanilla bug, as I don't have this addon installed, yet my first time meeting him was also outside of the freedom base shooting mutants with other freedom guards. I assume they spawn in the wrong place the first time you load army warehouse.
btw, does goodwill seem to work properly, ot not enough feedback yet?
Goodwill works fine. I haven't tested every trader in the zone but i see no reason as to why they shouldn't work.

Hey man, I've got a question regarding this addon. I think I downloaded it once and then forgot about it. I also installed Trader overhaul with the neutral trader option. As you said, there are no issues between them, but I've been reading the comments here and noticed some discrepancies with my own playthrough.
- I killed every named NPC in the bandit Base with no issue
- I did the same in the military outpost in Cordon
- Ditto in the Military HQ in Agroprom
So none of those merchants was neutral, IDC because I was planning on murdering them myself, I just mention it because you said that Sultan for example would be neutral with this mod.
But the thing is that the SIN traders in Red Forest are indeed neutral, and they're also immortal. I can't damage them in any way or form. I was wondering if you had any idea what the issue is, and if there's any way to make traders of factions I don't care about killable.
