Simple addon which changes recoil characteristics of almost all guns, turn the recoil into a more realistic way (in my opinion anyway). Plus addon has a "JSRS SO 3.3" compatibility patch.
n vanilla, it’s almost impossible to control the recoil when shooting in full auto mode the entire magazine of, for example, an AK 74M. Full auto mode almost useless for most weapons, except ultrashort distances. Shooting in short bursts is also ineffective. This mod correct situation, bringing it closer to reality.
Addon reduces the damage (15% - 20%) of short barrel weapons such as AKSU, SIG SG 552. Accuracy of the most pistols is also slightly reduced (from 0.3 dispersion degrees to 0.5 - 0.6). It's very strange to use pistols as a marksman rifle for shooting at distances up to 100 meters.
For better gameplay experience, I recommend using "Enhanced shooting effects" in extra options.
(Options (Extra) --> Visual and sound effects --> Enhanced shooting effects)
The new game is NOT required.
Changes compared to vanilla (google translate):
Docs.google.com
v1.04
• Adopted to Anomaly 1.5 update 4. SR-25 now has 20 round magazine. Added new no zoom version for ADS (ironsights), but visuals can be little buggy. Some small fixes. Removed some compatibilities for a while.
**Anomaly devs were changed all of the weapon configs. This is the main reason why updating addon takes a lot of time. That's was annoying.**
v1.03
• Weapon resource changes.
1.02 to 1.03 change log: Docs.google.com
• Added Boomsticks and Sharpsticks weapon addon compatibility
• Added JSRS Sound Overhaul V3 and JSRS impacts/crack compatibility.
v1.02
• Added changes list compared to vanilla
• Added SS&S Version 4.1 (shotguns with scopes) compatibility
• Removed JSRS v2 compatibility (JSRS v3 compat. soon)
v1.01
• Fixed for Anomaly 1.5 update 3
• Added compatibility patch for use with JSRS SOUND OVERHAUL 2 (V.2)
cool!
This is Perfect
Does it also apply to NPC aim behaviour? These bandits can snipe me with PM and that's very annoying.
It's way more complicated, then just weapons configuration file adjusting. There is an option for accuracy in the actor.ltx, NPC accuracy depending on which difficulty mode you use in-game, accuracy also depending on the rank of the NPC and accuracy is defined in m_stalker.ltx. Accuracy for the NPC in most cases is a multiplier. So, I can rewrite lines that determine the accuracy of NPC stalkers depending on their ranks, but it can break the balance. For example, bandit may not hit you in very close range, and NPC almost always carries weapons in a bad condition, and this causes them reloading very often. And addition to all of these, you can shoot NPC with a pistol at a 70 meters distance, just like a bandit.
There is some PM firing at 70-80 yards.
To be fair, thats a very experienced shooter in a controled range environment vs a thug in the zone with a poorly maintained piece during combat.
Is there a way to have this and the "Universal Inertia mod" at the same time?
Yeah, just follow the 'complex method' instructions in Universal Inertia's description
Can someone combine the two together please?
You can
What exactly did you edit in the base.ltx file? I'm running Shotgun Variety, and the only file that this mode would overwrite is the base.ltx file for SV. If there is changes, is it possible to provide a compatibility patch?
Oh, I wasn't saying about lowering the air resistance coefficient. I was tested this, but not included in the LRA addon. I was doing this because vanilla Anomaly mod uses a very big air resistance coefficient (it's triple), and bullets are dropped so fast. But I have posted this addon on Moddb with an older base.ltx, which have no any changes. You can simply override this. Sorry about that, I'll fix download soon.
I really appreciate your mod! Btw, I also use JSRS sound mod and my mod manager (JSGME) says that your files will overwrite some of the sound mod, which I found strange. If you don't mind, can you look into it? I think a lot of people use that mod too, and with your addon it would be just perfect for me. Thank you!
Yep, there are some changes in upgrade properties. I'll try to do a compatibility version.
I manually merged the files on my end, very small edits, can provide them if you want
Why not, i'll credit you. But does it ready for last 3.0 update?
Done. Now it have compatibility patch.
Update 3 Used new weapon conifgs. Update please
Done.
Hell, how to hide the long text on moddb?
crashes on splash screen for me. 1.5.0 (3), your mod plus JSRS compatibility patch.
That's happened because I updated my addon only today.
Did you use the stats editor or change it from the file ?
I've done this addon before update 4, but actually functionality of the stats editor doesn't allow me to change upgrades sections for the guns. So I find this good for testing, not whole changing. Old good notepad++ helps me more.
are you gonna add Boomsticks and Sharpsticks compatibility patch back? great mod btw, can't live w/o it
crashes in loading screen, Update 4 hotfix 8
can u please give us only a recoil change dowload ? i kinda don't want to use your tweaks, i was only looking for a recoil reducer addon
reduces the damage (15% - 20%) of short barrel weapons such as AKSU, SIG SG 552
are u kidding ? what the lenght of the weapon barrell has to do with anything ? its the same logic that call of duty dumb games uses of supressed weapons dealing less damage cause of the supressor,
lmao what.
barrel length gives the bullet more time to accelerate because the gases have nowhere to go but forward. Shorter barrels directly equates to lower muzzle velocity.
I think that's pretty much common knowledge...
In fact, it's the same logic as a supressor *increasing* 'damage'.
really didn't notice any change, recoil still unrealistic high , its only fine and realistic with ''enhanced recoil'' feature turned off, was that it or you need to enable it for your mod to work?
When I add this via JSGME my game crashes upon loading a save, here's my load order:
Hello, is this mod compatible with Boomsticks and Sharpsticks ?
I get asked to replace many files from that mod. I'm sorry if my question sounds stupid. Still new in modding stalker. Btw, I'm using Generic Mod Enabler.
