Nostalgia Category. 2-4 player, Deathmatch (don't shoot, just race!).
A recreation of an old favorite, Koopa Troopa Beach from the Mario Kart 64 :) Enjoy.
(this is the Standard Race version - 'Death Race' version coming soon)
yeah, perhaps the beach could be slighted wider. The shortcut jump was made intentionally thin to add some challenge to doing it, but yeah it could be more forgiving. I'll make a revision of the track with all the feedback that comes in.
I should mention, it feels much more nostalgic if you have the actual track music playing on the background :) it's a free Download of you google it :)
As would any of these nostalgic maps :P
One thing I hated about making the bomb-omb battlefield map was that for days I had the goddamn music stuck in my head because it's just so catchy :P
Without that music, there just isn't the same feel.
ROFL ROFL ROFL i love this map, it's fun. only one detail which is an unavoiadable sacrifice is the under water short cut. in MK64, the waves shifted between fully concealing and partially revealing the land bridge across the small bay by the tunnel shortcut.
either it's visible or not, i like not, so i wont criticize that.
i absolutely love what you did for the ramps!!! :D the ramps alone are a wonderful detail! then your koopa troopa rock formation was VERY well designed.
I agree that it could stand to be a little wider in places, but overall, i want to hold a kart race! :D looks like this map will become popular :P
I'll make some tweaks that should make it more playable, whether it'll be updated in time for the competition end is another matter, but even if it doesn't I'm hoping to release a seperate verison that will allow the map to be used as a 'proper' deathmatch map too, as in paths across the island, man sized cave complexes, sniper points etc.
Solid Map, although I found the track to be really thin, and it was a tough job getting onto those higher ramps.
But I like how you actually made the ramps themselves.

Haha that's great, i actually decided to play it with the music and it felt way better.
