Keeps any ammo compatible with your equipped weapons highlighted.
The following slots are supported:
- Slot 1 (knife or pistol) - "knife slot"
- Slot 2 (pistol or gun) - "secondary slot"
- Slot 3 (pistol or gun) - "main slot"
- Slot 5 (pistol) (optional - only if you are using "knife-and-pistol-in-binoculars-slot" addon)
Each equip slot is colour coded to its compatible ammo. If you equip multiple weapons that share the same ammo then the ammo will be highlighted based on the lowest index slot (for example, pistol slot colour will take precedence over secondary).
If using the [02 Basic with MCM support] option you can configure the colours of each slot and ammo combination. These options can be changed in game without needing to quit.
Should be compatible with any other mods that highlight items as any internal functions used are patched. If using multiple mods that permanently highlight items, precedence will be determined by mod load order.
Any mods that add new slots, or allow you to equip weapons in other existing slots (such as the binoculars slot) are *currently* not supported.
[02 Basic with MCM support] is tested to be compatible with MCM version 1.6.5
Please ensure you uninstall any old version first.
For manual installation choose **one** of the root directories in the download zip and extract over your anomaly install.
If using Mod organizer 2 select the zip file and choose **one** of the following options:
- [01 Basic] is the mod without configuration options
- [02 Basic with MCM support] is configurable using **anomaly mod configuration menu**
- [03 MagRedux Compatibility] is just [02 Basic with MCM support] with compatibility for mags redux (you dont need mcm installed for this to work)

If you use any other mod that highlights slots it may be causing this if the highlight takes precedence due to script load order. I've observed this happening when using the mod 'NewItemHiLight' by RavenAscendant. This interaction is expected as it will highlight the equip slot on picking up a weapon from the ground (if its auto-equipped).

A small mod, but a huge QoL upgrade, I love stuff like this
what happens when 2 equipped guns using the same ammo?
The lower index slot takes precedence.
So the ammo would be highlighted for the secondary over main, and pistol over secondary or main.
I guess it would be preferable for the slots to have the same colour if they shared ammo type. Might have a look at it when I have time.
edit: latest version colours slots the same if they share ammo
i love you. this is such a big qol improvement with icon packs that change the vanilla style of ammo

in mod "mags redux" i edit "magazine_binder.script", found "function check_ready(cell)" made this function empty. it's works!

Latest version should highlight the other mags as well now.
For making the highlights here take precedence over other addons/mods this is only doable by changing the load order of scripts. You could try renaming the main script of this mod to start with zzzzzzzzzz_ so it gets pushed to the end of the load list. The script for this mod would need to load after mags redux.

Hi,
I've done some testing and those items appear highlighted for a clean install of this addon with only mags-redux installed.
To confirm I'm testing the right thing, by pouches you mean right clicking the magazine and selecting "add to loadout" right?. I don't use mags-redux so I'm not aware of the various features it has.
Could you try a fresh install of each with no script modifications (except the zzzzzzzzz_ renaming if you want) to see if it works for you?

Yep so what you see in that screenshot is the expected *default* behavior. I see the same when I haven't renamed the script file.
Just to confirm you should *only* have [03 MagRedux Compatibility] from the zip installed as well. Installing more than one would cause conflicts.
If you were to now rename the script file from "/gamedata/scripts/d1sp_keep_ammo_highlighted_mcm.script" to "/gamedata/scripts/zzzzzzzzzz_d1sp_keep_ammo_highlighted_mcm.script" it should highlight mags in your loadout as well. This is what I've tested on my end and it works. (Note that this will work without having mcm installed)
If this still doesn't work I'm sorry but I don't see what else I can suggest.
For those of us with Pistol-Knife-Binoc that use the Binocular slot as the pistol slot could you make that slot (slot 5) also highlight compatible ammo?

I like having two primaries, a pistol and knife as I almost NEVER use binocs.
ALSO funny you set slot 5 to purple/violet as thats what I was goign to try and do when modding your mod but I couldn't get it working lol.
Can you make it so the ammo is not highlighted, but favorited automatically? I think that would be way better, because it'll always be at the top in your inventory, traders and loot containers.
