Basically an overhaul of probably one of the guns ever in Anomaly. Nothing special here.
The main intention for making this addon is to make the Kar98k serve as an animation platform for "bolt-action and fixed magazine rifles" animation sets since the old one has been used for 14 mods as of now (an assumption).
All of the issues with the vanilla gun that I wanna fix:
- Model looks like something coming out in 2006, assisted by the texture (it looks archaic).
- Recycled anims because we stalker modders rely on each other, especially the need of having animations for a gun.
- Sounds need a revamp (nah it's not synced with the new animations, of course).
- There's no real purpose for using this if I'm being honest.
So yeah, the fixes are:
- New model from Modern Warfare 2019, edited and provided by Ishtar.
- New animation set made by me, of course.
- New sounds from a mix of Ready or Not, Beyond the Wire and Squad.
- The three things combined could solve issue #4. I also make the gun perform better than the Mosin in terms of damage so yeah, that should give you some reason to use it.
I also added an alt aim mode if you guys wanna go CQC but didn't want to detach the scope, or you guys are just going GMod realism with a factory=spec 1930's rifle.
Preview:
This mod is compatible with JSRS thanks to the gunshot and cycling the bolt sounds being separated. I also recommend using Old Dog Sleeves or any hand pack with Call of Pripyat proportions because, with the default and THAP arms, the left-hand pose looks weird which is caused by the hand mesh.
As I said in the first sentence (excluding the heading or something), I said about the animations that Kar uses. I won't publicly post it here. Message me instead. And don't claim it as your work especially if you only edit the hand pose.
I'm not going to help you with adjusting the animations to fit with a gun that you ported though. Giving access to the project is enough.

FAQ
1) Why is the 5.56 NATO conversion broken?
- No idea, I got the same crash way before making this addon.
2) B-but the scope isn't accurat-
- Ishtar of the Cat family gave me a model of this gun with an accurate ZF-41 scope, but Mosin's scope placement scares me so I just stick to a ZF-39 instead (Idk if the current scope is actually a ZF-39 but eh it's close.
4) HOLY MCLORD, THIS THING KILLED ME A TON OF TIMES!
- You want's vanilla damage? Go to the confix and replace hit_impulse and hit_power with this:

- Fixed animation issue because apparently, 1.5.2. is broken beyond relief and I actually have a fix of this animation installed. The bullets won't fly anymore (I can't promise, but my clean 1.5.2. installation is)
- Fixed bump map issue which is not my fault because I can't set up bump maps. Thanks to Maid for telling Ishtar about the bump map issue and Asnen too idk (intentionally not mentioning synth or someone idk).
- Changed end reload sound because the old one sucked.

- Sushi of the Cat fixed the Kar model again. Now it has a more optimized and higher quality model.

So, I discovered that the Lee-Enfield probably used a TPP assault rifle animation The reload will look weird if switch the Kar TPP animations to that

Yeah, 0.65 is around 90 degrees FOV which is the one that I animate with

That's an issue with 1.5.2 which should be simple to fix although it requires some modding tools
Hi jadey it looks like part of the bolt is not moving with the bolt. And the arm animation that pushes the bolt when reloading a few bullets is missing.

Update: The anm_close thing is actually normal. It happened to the vanilla guns as well if you press the fire key while reloading a round.

welp, decided to remove it.
just parent that part to both the bolt and bolt_rotate bones in order to fix it and remove the parent to wpn_body (that's exactly what i did myself)
Can you make it use the magazine instead of reloading each bullet? i see there is a magazine inside the mesh file
The model provided handman put the clip on the model just in case i want to make an anim with it. But it required extra work and I'm lazy.
But one thing for sure is that there's an actual script for that which is a good thing.
