Killing every stalker that exists in the zone will not even give you 25% of the experience required to attain the highest rank of "legend" in Anomaly. This is the fix.
If you kill a stalker with the rank of legend in normal Anomaly, you receive 20 ranks. That means that you would need to kill 1400 legendary stalkers to become a legendary stalker. There is no practical way to become a legend in the game as a result.
This addon modifies the ranks received for killing stalkers, mutants, and completing other tasks accordingly, so that you may become a legend without massacring the zone multiple times in a single playthrough.
This means you can now have the option of what YOU want to do to become a legendary ranked stalker. In Improved Ranks, you can choose to
-complete 120 arena battles
-survive 1200 emissions
-find 600 artefacts
-smash 2400 boxes
-complete 300 tasks
-fail 2400 tasks
-change levels 12000 times
-Get 12 vanilla achievements
This additionally affects the ranks NPCs receive for killing other stalkers and mutants, so companions and others will be affected by the new ranks and rewards as well, and you will be able to see them progress alongside you (though likely much more slowly).
Existing saves will not update your rank to recognize past kills, but every kills should be recognized in the game with the new ranks. Adding this to an existing game will only affect the ranks of newly spawned NPCs.
Below are the original and new ranks for reference. The first number is what experience is needed to achieve the rank, the second is the reward to kill a stalker of the given rank.
Original ranks and rewards:
novice: 0, 5
trainee: 2000, 6
experienced: 4000, 7
professional: 7000, 8
veteran: 10000, 9
expert: 15000, 10
master: 21000, 15
legend: 28000, 20
Improved ranks and rewards:
novice: 0, 50
trainee: 4000, 100
experienced: 8000, 200
professional: 12000, 350
veteran: 20000, 550
expert: 30000, 800
master: 45000, 1100
legend: 60000, 1500
To install, extract "gamedata" to your Anomaly folder. If it doesn't ask to overwrite anything, you should be good. If not, let me know what addon the existing files came from.
Note:
You can modify the values in
scripts/game_statistics.script - lines 105-136
configs/creatures/game_relations.ltx - lines 124-131
to suit your own preferences of rank rewards.

About time someone made this. Killing 600 monolith soldiers just to become an experience rank 86 loner feelsbadman
Yes but doesn't completing mission successfully give you more rep than just killing people? From what I remember the harder the mission the more rep it gives.
Doing missions is indeed the best way to earn reputation, however, NPCs don't receive reputation for your missions, this is a pretty big deal for companions (most importantly Hip, since she's the "main" companion, who also starts as at the lowest rank) because their stats like accuracy or jamming probability scales with their rank, so low-rank companions would remain forever incompetent. At least any kills your companions manage to get will truly help them progress now.
Yes, it's the most rewarding repeatable action you can do to gain ranks in the base game alongside downing a helicopter. Completing it gives the player 50 ranks in the original game.
I raised it to 100 in the addon, since there's no system discerning between "easy" and "hard" tasks in the ranks.
This is much needed!
real bazingarrey? oh blin remember when nikolai bullied you on his stalker videos
Possible to return the Vanilla ranking. Rookie-Experiemces-Veteran-Expert?
I don't see any reason why not. I'll see if I can make a preset for the old ranks and add it as another option in an update if it works.
Edit: I have now updated the addon to include an option for the vanilla rankings
I have it working with the Rookie-Experienced-Veteran-Expert ranks. Do you want the same point structure as in Shadow of Chernobyl? This is what it was:
Rookie: 0-299
Experienced: 300-599
Veteran: 600-899
Expert: 900+
I'm guessing that this requires a new game to fully work. I downloaded the addon and changed the point requirements and rewards to my preferences but after enabling it I noticed that the new ranks were displaying for other stalkers but not for me (I made it so that for experienced you would need 8000 points and my character that had around 6000 was still displaying as experienced following the unmodded rules).
I'm pretty sure that the problem would be solved if there was a way to have your points recalculated based on the new rules when loading a save but I don't think that is really possible.
I'm pretty sure I got it working, what I did wrong was that I thought the numbers after the rank were the required points, not too sure how I didn't see it sooner but after a good night's sleep I realized my mistake. I retweaked the numbers and right now this is what i'm working with
novice: 0 / 50
trainee: 2000 / 100
experienced: 5000 / 200
professional: 9000 / 300
veteran: 14000 / 450
expert: 20000 / 600
master: 27000 / 800
legend: 35000 / 1000
I'm still bummed tho that my points remained the same because I'm sure that if they were recalculated based on the new ruleset my merc that cleared Limansk would be a bit higher in rank XD
P.S.
I just modified line 8 (rating) and lines 125-132 (rank_kill_points), was there something else that needed to be modified or just those 2? I was thinking something might have to be done to line 12 (rating_names) as well but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what it does.
Those are all the correct lines. I'm guessing line 12 might be for distribution of points to NPCs when they spawn. I didn't think to check.
Lines 113-134 of scripts\dxr_statistics.script also modify the miscellaneous things you can do for ranks, like destroying boxes or finding artifacts, so you might want to change those as well.
Also I noticed the achievement "Patriarch" only pays attention to a set point threshold, so in-game it's still set be unlocked when you achieve the regular 28k points. I'll resolve that with an update later.
Line 12 is not for that, but I will change them to the values of line 8 and see if it seems to change anything in a playthrough.
I've found what changes rank distribution for NPCs, so I'll see if I can add an update to change that as well.
i didnt start a new game pretty sure it worked all good for me i was experienced with 5400 b4 added i became rookie with 5400 soon to be experienced needing 6000
i would like to say the points needed for experienced should be a little higher since you get so many points for killing a high rank so maybe 8000 or 10000 for experienced and so on
The update I just posted increased some of the miscellaneous rewards and the ranks. Legend now requires 50000 points.
this mod is great btw i ve been thinking something like this needs to be added to the game thx for all your work fr bro <3
Thank you!
Thanks for your contribution! I'll be testing it, and if I find anything negative, will report. Thanks again!
which one is better? default improved ranks or SoC improved ranks?
I would say default Improved Ranks. It has 8 ranks while SoC only has 4 ranks. It's also the one I've been using for my playthroughs.
Oh I see thank!
Hey, your mod is incompatible with Mercenary Faction Relation Tweak, it overwrites the game_relations.ltx of the addon causing to restore the original relations betwen bandits-mercs and stalkers-mercs (in the addon it makes mercs be neutral with stalkers and hostile with bandits)
If you want I have the merged file made and tested by me :) but doesn't matter if you don't want it I just want to help :D
Good mod by the way!
Thank you, I would like to have the merged file.
But also, where is the regular Merc faction relation tweak available?
Sadly now I don't have the file, I don't know how but it was deleted, maybe is the fact that I share my PC and accidents occur :/
Good news is that this page Moddb.com is the original addon that changes the Merc faction relation, it's a pretty old addon consisting of modular tweaks that I use. Hope it works for you, look for the folder "18. Mercenary faction relation tweak"
There are legendary stalkers that are leveled around 58000, or even 59000 while im stuck at 56000. Is this due to applying this mod after I started a new game?
I believe that you are not using the latest version of the mod (1.21).
If line 281 and line 289 of the file gamedata/scripts/dxr_statistics.script has the number 56 000, then that is the cause.
This was patched in version 1.21 of the mod, which changed the limit of points to
1 000 000 000 in Improved Ranks.
Applying the newest version of the addon should solve the issue without necessitating you to start a new game.
yes excellent info, appreciatcha!
i cant fix that problem ((((((
past version worked weith muh immersion now 1.22 does not
I looked at the conflicting files.
Using the files from "Muh Immersion" when files conflict instead of Improved Ranks should work for the time being while preserving some of the changes of Improved Ranks, but the rank changes for scripted and random NPCs would not be included.
I will work on a patch to make the rest of Improved Ranks compatible.
The addons from Muh Immersion that I saw that are not fully compatible with Improved Ranks are Illinaru Warfare Balance v19 and Immersive Dynamic Tasks v1.01.
Please let me know if there are others.
i only noticed it wasnt working is because it wasnt loading in JSGME just letting you know so thats good to know thats what was actually going on anf thank you for working on that it made me sad when i updated to 1.22 and it didnt work
JSGME actually noticed the download and had me overwrite some folders (which is good as long as its not a file) when i didnt download the npc adjustments so hopefully the improved ranks part still work lol
Is this mod supposed to make my rank improve extremely fast? I got experienced then the next in-game day i was already professional, and I am even using the less rewarding deaths.
It depends on how you play and what you do.
I made it thinking that most stalkers cannot really do anything to gain experience reliably (killing others) without greatly risking death. When you think of how fragile you and NPCs are, you will always find it easy to improve your rank since they can easily die and you can easily quickload.
How many NPC stalkers do you see kill enemy squads singlehandedly, even once, while you might find it easy? Even experienced stalkers in my games may die to a lone boar, so I made the first ranks progress quickly because of these facts of life in the zone. As the NPCs and the player use the same rank system, I didn't want to have a progression of ranks that was any more difficult.
The ranks increase by around 50% each level, so later progression is slower. It's much easier to progress the earlier ranks, so the names might not be as appropriate for the exact rank you need to achieve them.
I never thought of how ridiculous the ranking system was. Yeah, this is good.
Do you think you could tweak the dynamic factions if possible ? or tell me how too because they say its in anomaly but i have over 300 hours and never once saw a truce happen i would really like to it was cool in coc
you can download fluid relations it's pretty good
what im using tbh lol and what i was talking about
I've figured it out. The game_relations file has it's own dynamic faction relations but in fluid relationship you can change the death_value and the higher it is the relations go faster. Only the problem is that Improved Ranks have their own faction relations file
for some reason when i first downloaded it monolith was neutral but i fixed it by making monolith an actual value -2000 instead Nil
Any idea why im stuck at 56000 on newest version ?
does this work with RC18?
There's a new Anomaly release which is RC15 to RC19 (latest patch), could this be updated for RC19?
seems to work OK in RC19, no major issues (that I noticed...). only thing i noticed is every time you travel from one map to another, a message pops up saying the rank and reputation have increased.
Just wanted to ADD a giant thank you to Mod creator. And say could you make a micro patch to make this work with ARszi's psy mod? He modifies game relations, and It overwrites your ranking system. I went in and modified the file with your file, and it fixed the issue.
Will this work in version 1.5.1?
I second the question!
Yes, it works.
[Machine translation, sorry]
Hi Yakovleva!
I see that the last time you updated this mod was in 2020 and I don't really believe that you will notice this post... However, I will try anyway)
I was faced with too fast leveling of the character and for a long time could not understand what was the matter, until one time I saw that my rank increased from the fact that I took the artifact from the container...
After disabling all mods except yours and starting a new game, I ran a couple of tests and noticed a few interesting things.
First, to my surprise, the anomaly rewards the player with experience when moving an artifact into a container and vice versa. I tried many different containers and artifacts and came to the conclusion that the value of the experience gained is equal to a random value of 5 or 10 experience points in vanilla.
Secondly, (I have no idea how) your mod increases this value to 100 and 105 points, respectively, and this is the cost of the innocent soul of the trainee)
I like your mod and can't imagine a game without it. And, of course, I'm not going to abandon him because of such a trifle as an increased reward for changing the storage location of the artifact... But it would be very cool if you could somehow bypass this anomalous feature of the anomaly)
It have not been able to see this happening anymore in the current version of the game. Discovering different things (artifacts, anomalies, for the first time) that add articles to your PDA does increase ranks by a certain number, in this mod set to add 100 ranks (Improved) and 2 ranks (SoC).
