Wow, someone actually knows about alpha channels and normals!!!

Good work. :-)

P,S. I use Paint.net for all my texturing work, it's a great program at a great price ...€0.00!

Thanks! it just annoyed me that the flashbang was just straight up chrome, and the normalmap i just did because why not, it isnt perfect anyway.

It looks fine, but you don't really need to have the text embossed like that.

When I do my repaints I make three .pdn files: one for the colour map, one for the alpha and one for the normal. That way you have more control over how the finished product looks in terms of having metal, wood, plastic, rubber finishes and so on.

I usually make a greyscale image from elements of the colourmap to generate the normal, and another greyscale image for the specular.
I've built up a library of textures that will give me the effect I want when overlaid onto these images.

Here's an example of one of my repaints: Moddb.com

How exactly do you do the specular? whenever i was retexturing stuff, i always had the problem with the alpha speculars, so i mostly used Curves and just effects that didnt require managing the alpha, that's why the textures werent so good
so can you give me like a short tutorial on managing the speculars?
Also, your retexture looks amazing! I always liked how the retextures fit into your mod as well

Hi, I sent you a tutorial as a private message so that I could add images. Hope you find it useful.
