Run. Think. Shoot. Hear.
This is a Mono/16/44.1kHz version of the "Half-Life - Full Audio Remaster" mod. Designed to run under MetaAudio and Xash3D. Dedicated to faithfully remastering all the low quality sound effects and dialogue from Half-Life, Blue Shift and Opposing Force.
Monsters. Machinery. Scientists. Your arsenal of weapons. Your footsteps—every sound manually cleaned and restored to full 16/44.1kHz quality.
How to install:
This version of the mod is designed to work on Xash3D and MetaAudio. Simply drag and drop the sounds folder into the folder you'd insert mod sounds.
For the Sven Coop users, please go here.
KNOWN ISSUES:
The game might stutter a little bit when loading too many sounds or long sounds.
FAQ:
"Can I use or edit these sounds in my game/videos?"
-Yes. Crediting would be appreciated.
"Did you use any of the original stock sound effects that Valve used for the game?"
-None whatsoever-apart from Otis' gun. Explosions were heavily edited to resemble the original game's distorted sound.
"What was then the process for doing all of these?"
-For sound effects it involves a lot of cleaning up the original sound file using Izotope RX's tools and other tools to attenuate distortion-the process of creating high frequencies through various manners-the shaping
of the sound all the way down to the sound design work and mimicking the mixing techniques of the original with a more modern twist to it.
For vocals it's more complicated, it's a mix of the process above intertwined with manual phoneme/breath mixing and heavily cleaned up results from General Speech Restoration neural networks.
"Why did you do the unused sounds if they're not even used in the game"
-idk
"Is there any easter eggs?"
- :)
"I have found a bug/issue with one of the sounds, where can I report this?"
-Please email me @ halfliferestored@gmail.com. Please don't DM me on Steam or Twitter for small bug fixes.
"There are some sounds missing/mislabelled sound!"
-You can email me about those as well.
"Is there any support for Decay/Uplink"
-Nope. Sorry. Only Scientist lines for now.
"What about the Gamecube version?"
-how do you even have that
"or the Korean version?"
-HUH??

I see that this version is significantly smaller than the Sven Coop version. Are there significant difference between the two?
16 Bit and in mono compared to 24 bit and in stereo
Holy Smokes! you really shaken things up haven't ya? I like how this doesn't just simply make sounds higher quality but you simultaneously also upgrade them! most noticeable is the Nihilanth.
Honestly congrats to you, this may be silly to ask but have you thought of doing this for mods? not like newer ones or every single mod you can find, but like popular ones such as They Hunger, Azure Sheep, Pov or Sweet Half-Life?
Either way if it's a no, It's not like I'll be upset cause you still made this incredible masterpiece! plus it took effort so trying another thing would probably make things harder. Also I'm just noticing i'm making this paragraph of a sentence too long so I just want to say this addon is very appreciated!
And I wish you to have a good spring!
I'd also love for official multiplayer mods like Team Fortress Classic, Counter-Strike, Deathmatch Classic, Ricochet and Day of Defeat to be covered aswell.
10 "mister ur goin down!" out of 10
Really want to see this one but for they hunger, one of the best half life mods
I assume that this won't work on vanilla Half-Life. Steam, that is.
You also need Github.com for Steam HL.
It means that we can make a Classic Mesa mod...
already happening.
Dear developer of this Mod, please separate the file for Opposing Force and Blue Shift because it's assorted in Half-Life file. Thank you.

Is there any chance you'll be covering other GoldSrc games aswell, such as Team Fortress Classic, Deathmatch Classic, Ricochet, Day of Defeat and Counter-Strike?
I mean, Using MetaAudio in VAC servers could get u banned.
Can you do a 176kbps version?
Are you making a version for the HD PACK?
Is there a proper guide on how to install this mod for MetaAudio? I'm having trouble getting the mod to work.
WHere would mod sounds in Half Life go? I know about installing a normal mod like TWHL Tower but I don't know about changing vanilla sounds.
click valve and theres a sound folder
click it and then put the hd sound in
it
Can this also be use for Half-Life: Source?
