I was going to say a comment that it would be illogical because the more time passes, the better prices the sellers give you, but with this it sounds to me that the prices were always expensive but because you were a noob with lice with no money and no chance of survival, well They give you the facilities so that you can buy things but when you advance in the game the prices remain as they should be for experienced stalkers

well ... it is little bit philosophical question ... How would be player treated as beginner and how hard is to do Tier 1 upgrades and how hard is to do tier 3 upgrades (especially when you need expert tool for that)
......

Vanilla system is that all upgrades are priced more-less the same... Also some upgrades have different description but sometimes they have the same effect (one of dirty secrets ;) )

Now, thanks to Raven, we can kinda roleplay it and play with vallues for default pricing of particular tiers. I set some default values that I consider fair for majority of players.

My personal settings would be probably more harsh for the player. Not by much though (just tier 2 and tier 3 + 5% or +10% on top of default vallues from this addon)

P.S.
pls there is beautiful info on anomaly wiki.
Not all mechanics are the same. Some are cheaper, some more expensive (but you do not need tools for upgrade) and some are mid ground ... You should be encouraged to do upgrades with those cheaper mechanics ;) (just to find them :) )

Yeah, I can confirm. It is this mod's issue, as I've tested it on a clean gamedata too. The upgrade kits and repair kits get used up, but the upgrades do not get applied to the suit/gun.

Hm... nope. I mean I tested it on vanila and this is screenshot from my upgrades I did through workbench. It is freedom jacket vs. upgraded freedom jacket. You can see that upgrades were applied. But I will investigate this further with RavenAscendant...

EDIT - first screenshot was mistake, this one is legit

Well, I don't know what to tell you.
I had set up a clean gamedata, I did exactly same things step by step, on the same save file and the only difference between workbenches working and not working was the presence of this mod. Once removed it was working again and the gamedata had nothing else in it.
Do you maybe have another version of this script and uploaded a wrong/outdated one by accident? Download the one from moddb and test it, maybe some file corruption. I'm grasping at straws here really.

I've found a new bug (hate me yet?).
I sent you the details to your moddb inbox to not clutter the comment section with myself even more.

I've wanted a mod like this for so long. I hate how locked up the upgrades are early game both due to the tools RNG and the ridiculous pricing.
With this mod set to 0.5, 1 and 1.5 for each tier respectively and halved weapon upgrade costs the economy starts being a little more sensible. Upgrading a Makarov costs peanuts, decent gun is still an investment and slightly upgrading a low tier suit doesn't disintegrate your wallet.

I am happy you like the addon.

Anomaly has one of weirdest economies. Beginners do not sees that but once you have some experience it is very easy to get ****** about it ...

And so I do addons :D Fortunately, even if I cannot script, RavenAscendant helped me.

Your values are interesting. Maybe even other people will use them once they see this comment :)

P.S. (I copied PS, from comment above as it is important)

Most mechanics have very similiar pricing and once you get them all the toolkits they are pretty much the same. I don't know how up to date the wiki is, but you can see the values inside stalkers_upgrade_info.ltx It doesn't make that big of a difference in the early game since those are multipliers, so they are by nature less visible with lower values.

The only real outliers are Nitro, Cardan, Spleen and Forester. All of them never drop their prices and have crazy multipliers (4x, 5x).

Then you have the individual upgrade costs. Why would I ever pay 50% of the gun's value to make it shoot 5% faster. Especially something like a Makarov. It's inane. With the way vanilla economy is, it pretty much forces you to hoard stuff, then you make one trip with your junk to the scientists and suddenly you are rich and can buy anything. There's absolutely no sense of progression.

From what I gathered the steep prices exist to encourage you to use the crafting bench and the upgrade kits, so you save up money. But after two playthroughs I pretty much came to the conclusion that they are just a waste of time. You have to hoard stuff forever, lug it across the Zone to your stash and use up tons of your time to put everything together while you could be doing more fun stuff like hunting artifacts and shooting stuff, not sitting in a crafting menu.

If they really wanted to make those upgrade kits useful, they should've made them something along the lines "oh, you have your own parts, so the mechanic is gonna only charge you for labor, here's a massive discount". Instead of rushing to have enough workbench time, making sure you have all the right upgrade kits and all the right upgrades installed when something is missing along the upgrade tree, you have enough of the ridiculously expensive repair kits, etc. It's just tedious.

Nowadays I just sell those straight away unless I recognize it's a really valuable one and only use crafting for meds and repairs. Life is too short to spend it min-maxing a few thousand rubles in a singleplayer game.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Your imputs and idea are appreciated.

You actually pointed to issue(s) that is very discussed in Anomaly Discord. I would like to invite you come among us sometimes. Here is the invite: Discord.com

Btw. Crafting is still very experimental feature and very problematic. But I have infos that there will be addons to address this issue.
