Adds Glowsticks to Anomaly (Based on Dead Air Assets) Hold the "use" key to throw them :)
___________
DESCRIPTION
___________
This is a collaboration made by Lucy (r3zy) & Blackgrowl.
As the name should imply, this adds glowsticks into Anomaly. Some of the assets are taken from Dead Air, so all credits to them in that regard.
It's more than just glowsticks though; many changes have been made to make the Glowsticks more versatile and interesting.
How? Well, first of all, there's more than just one variety.
They will appear as a "Device", you can use them on hand or drop them. Should be perfect to light up areas that don't have a campfire near, as well.
Check out "DETAILS" for more information.
Also take a gander at the "MODDING GUIDE" if there is something you want to modify yourself from this mod, like the Glowstick color or how to enable the shadows.
___________
INSTALLATION
___________
Recommended to use Mod Organizer 2 for the FOMOD installer.
Otherwise simply extract the "gamedata" to your main Anomaly folder or install with JSGME. And install optional files from the "addons" folder.
Remember to clear the shader cache (checkbox in the launcher or delete the anomaly/appdata/shaders_cache folder).
NOTE: You cannot safely uninstall this mod, since it adds new item sections that remain in the savefile.

PATCHES/ADDONS INFORMATION
___________
- Cr3pis' Icons. Changes the gritty icons into high-quality model-shaded ones.
- Briggs' Glowstick mesh. Replacer for the Dead Air models.

- Pack of New Devices patch. Makes the device meshes use the correct screen shader.
___________
DETAILS
___________
VARIANTS:
- GREEN. The default variant, it has a range of 12 and is good all around.
- ORANGE. While offering just a slightly weaker range, about 10 metres, it provides a much more "natural" light.
- RED. While offering the weakest illumination, it also has the best range, more than 24 metres. Perfect for the underground or very dark places with no natural light.
- CYAN. While having a small range of 6, it offers the best illumination. Best used in the Underground to get surprised, can even be used in daytime to find hard-to-see objects and the like.
IMPORTANT INFO:
- You can press and HOLD the Use key (default "F") to throw the glowstick. (Can be changed to the grenade launcher key in AMCM or by editing the script)
- Glowsticks have their own "lifetime", each variants also have their own lasting time.
- You can still use a glowstick while aiming a pistol.
- CAREFUL! Glowsticks on the ground can be destroyed, in which case you can't use them anymore.
ACQUISITION:
- At new game start (If you have AMCM installed).
- From traders.
- May be found in some dead STALKERs.
- In stashes.
BONUS:
- If you have AMCM, you can make it so the flashlights flicker heavily when you're inside the Brain Scorcher or Miracle Machine while they are still active.
This makes Glowsticks a must, just for lore fun.
- Broken flashlight draw animation is fixed by this mod.
- Screens turning dark if you don't have a device/pda equipped is fixed by this mod.
___________
KNOWN ISSUES
___________
* Animations are a bit "wonky". If any animator wishes to re-animate this, you can go right ahead, you have our full support already.
* Glowsticks only wear down when dropped on the ground or equipped in your hand.
___________
COMPATIBILITY
___________
Mods that replace detectors/devices can safely overwrite this mod's meshes.
Shader fix won't work though unless the new devices use the "models\selflight_det" shader for their display/light.
There's a patch for Pack of New Devices included, otherwise check out the "MODDING GUIDE".
___________
COPYRIGHT/LICENSE
___________
There is none.
This is a mod taken from Dead Air, ported to Anomaly, only license that counts is the license Dead Air uses and especially GSCs.
(In short; do whatever you want, but don't go selling it anywhere or claiming it is your own creation)
The only thing requested is that you acknowledge (credit) the work Blackgrowl and Lucy did to port this into Anomaly.

This is amazing. You even went the extra mile of letting us throw them if we want. This mod is gold.
I love it! The only minor thing is that the hud model seems to be quite far away compared to the pistols. But I guess that's a holdover from Dead Air right? Either way, the fact that they can be thrown and all have different strengths really makes this really useful. Just glowsticks woulda been enough for me, but useful glowsticks is even better.
Awesome mod. Will you port the lighter from Dead Air?
That would be absolutely amazing!
and also oil lamp
Holy ****, I was just thinking about how cool it would be to have glowsticks in Anomaly! Thanks for the mod!
Authors, thank you, you are beautiful! Waiting for the lighter!!
I have been waiting for glowstick/flares since the inception of anomaly !!!
You make my wish granted just like the shining crystal clear monolith inside Reactor #4 !!!
My applause for you !!!!!!
Based mod.

А скрипт расписали, будто это супер стратегическая фича, зачем изобретать велосипед, когда у dead air есть два похожих скрипта и буквально 5 строчек там и там, зачем всё так усложнять.
punjabi sex virus
Most likely, yes.
but it said Punjabi no virus
О, диванный эксперт подъехал. Альфа моддер и супер программист, который точно знает как сделать лучше чем девелопер Аномали.
Lol, the internet will internet.
The glowsticks share the same bug with other glowing objects that got introduced into Anomaly with the 3D PDA. Once you throw them, unless you have PDA or something under the O key equipped, the sticks themselves are dimmed and barely visible (when PDA is inactive the game turns off glowing for the PDA screen and every other glowing object, like TVs and such). The light aura still exists though, so the glowsticks are usable at least. Still, does anyone know how to fix this bug?
Here's screen comparison to show what I'm talking about.

I confirm there is such a problem
Same ****
the problem is still not resolved
Hey, I made a patch that extends the MCM menu, adding throwing distance as option and allowing to chose different keybinds for throwing. The changes/additions are all commented as "dph patch", for easy merging. Feel free to use it. No Russian translation yet though.

EDIT: Oops, made a mistake while copying things over -- you'll have to delete line 243 for things to work correctly!
This is awesome thank you so much for improving this already awesome mod! <3
Fantastic mod, thanks a lot guys!
Blue glowstick have fast shadow flicker on hands and weapon. Tested on fresh vanilla.
Can confirm this, you can reproduce this by equipping the blue glowstick with a handgun and look around in a circle until you can see the flickering on the shadow and side of the gun.
There are 4 areas in your view circumference where it starts to flicker: north, south, east and west
EDIT: apparently this is a common and normal shader bug in vanilla too, so unfortunately it's not the fault of the mod. The blue glowstick seem to be more noticeable with the flickering though, but it seem to do it with the other color as well if you look closely.
However I found a new bug, if you hold the glowstick and hold F for a bit (instead of tapping F) to pick something off the ground, that will cause a bug that will disable almost all of your inputs so you can't use inventory, aim, swap weapon, reload, etc.
Might have something to do with the hold F function to throw the glowstick causing this error. Only way to fix is to reload your save.
Yes, this.

will this affect shaders when i rearrange my mods?
No, generally only if an addon has files in the directory "gamedata/shaders" do you need to worry about that.
It says it overwrites quite a bit of files used by BaS. Will I encounter any gamebreaking bugs if I play with both?
If you install BaS on top of the glowstick mod it should work, but you won't be able to buy them from traders and they won't be a part of your starting loadout. You'll have to look for them in stashes and on dead stalkers.
I think it should be like a grenade.
THANK YOU
THANK YOU
THAAAAAAAAAAANK YOUUUUUUU
Are they only supposed to have their "power" drained when equipped? Glowsticks don't really do that but i can imagine there's a good reason why it's set this way. Also would love to see an option added for another glowstick to not automatically be put into your hand from your inventory.
According to the internet,
"Whilst the molecules of the dye are always present in the solution, the hydrogen peroxide and the diphenyl oxalate are slowly used up by the reaction, until one runs out and the reaction ceases – and it’s at this point that the glow stick will stop emitting its glow."
weird bug, they can't be placed in stashes (even player made ones). Just drops them on the ground. Also tried just going into the arena with them and it drops them on spawn.
Great mod. Would be even greater if there was a trader overhaul patch!
”ate glowstick” (´~`)モグモグ
when fix shadow?
The idea is excellent, but unfortunately, it doesn't work with "Mad Mags 1.5.1-15", which, in my humble opinion, is more important in priority, at least for those that enjoy "Anomaly Magazines".
Is a patch possible?
I just WinMerged it. It's only like 2 or 3 changes.
Special thanks for fixing the flashlight animation
I've installed your mod via MO2 on clean Anomaly installation. The only other mod I currently have is MCM, which successfully detects your addon. Also, when I start a new game, one glowstick is in my inventory.
Now, the issue is .... The throwing seems to be bugged:
1. I equip the glowstick (O)
2. My default use button is F
3. "Throw key" in MCM is set to "USE"
However, when I press/hold F, nothing happens? I can drop it from the inventory though.
Seems to be some initialization bug. Even though it's set in the MCM, you have to select the option and "set" it again (just click "Use" in the MCM dropdown). It works after doing this.
Thanks man, I'll try!
Thank you, dude!
Awesome, but I'm really not sure how I feel about the whole "Can't uninstall it safely" thing lol
When you try to talk to the trader (butcher) in the depot at the junkyard. The game is closing
thanks, fixed in update 5
