I'm familiar with it yes. Configs for the pistol and the bolt most likely have a line that reads "hud_fov =", remove that line from those configs but beware that this might cause other issues. My suggestion in removing this line and adjusting the position of the hud.

Some modded weapons/items change your HUD FOV when holding them, independent of your settings. It's kind of a "cheap" way to get a weapon/item to display correctly on any HUD FOV setting, without making multiple position patches for different HUD FOV values.

They were left in for test purposes. Deleting or keeping those lines wouldn't make a difference.
