Adds camera animations to many player movements to convey inertia more properly and rid the feeling of a floating camera. Works on RC18/19/21 ONLY.
INSTALLATION:
- Do NOT install on U4H8 (the ModDB release of Anomaly), it WILL crash the game on startup because the scripts rely on RC18/19/21 exclusive code.
- Extract the gamedata folder and drop it into your RC18/19/21 main directory, merging it with RC18/19/21's gamedata folder.
CHANGELOG:
- Version 1.1 (Oct 31): Replaced the footstep animation. It is now a small downward bob as opposed to a shake to replicate modern games much better and hopefully to reduce motion sickness. Also changed my script so the game doesn't cut off my jumping and landing animations. They now play smoothly.
SUMMARY:
Adds camera animations to footsteps, leaning left and right as well as returning from lean, crouching, standing, jumping, and landing. Every animation was made to convey the player's weight and inertia. Footfalls create a small shake that isn't too disruptive, standing and crouching create opposite rotations of the camera up and down to convey the effort of lifting and lowering your body in tandem, etc. This is only for the RC18 version of Anomaly found on the Anomaly discord server, so if you do not have that version, please do not install this mod or your game will crash.
COMPATIBILITY:
Should be compatible with any mod that doesn't try to do the same thing.
EXAMPLES:
I won't bother showing the footstep one because you won't tell the difference unless you're in fullscreen. All animations were created by me in Blender.

This is so cool! thank you for the addon
You're welcome, thanks for the appreciation!
Nice work!
Thanks, hope you enjoy!
Haven't played stalker for weeks. This is exactly what I needed, thanks man!
Hope you enjoy your journey back into the Zone then

The camera movement is too sharp, if you can, make it smoother.
Also, when leaning to the side, aiming gets lost, this is critical if you are playing with 1 life
If you're referring to the jumping animations, it's not my animations it's just the jumping being fucky. Also the point of the leaning was originally to do that, I wanted you to not have such an easy smooth time leaning around a corner. I would have done a bit more if I could figure out something else
looks awesome! only the jump/land animation feels kind of too sharp maybe. but great job still :)
Yeah that's just the game, not my animation. I'm unsure how to fix it, it just snaps my animation to certain points
Great job! I write through a translator.
Thank you very much
I like it all except jump and walk anims these two too shaky.
Nice job
The camera twitches when walking, can it be removed somehow?
the Human eye does not work like this, when running, okay, when walking-no
Well, I removed the step animation function from the bottom of the script, it helped, I just don't know if it's possible to make different functions for step and run in the script
Might be a way, hadn't coded it in yet tho. In RC18 there's also a check for IsMoveState("mcSprint") or something like that so you might have to set up the logic that way if you're intending on making it only work when sprinting.
When I try to change the step function for this to run or add a new one with mc Sprint, everything just stops working, I don't know what to do
It's a little fucky with the script callbacks and such, try asking in the Anomaly Discord about it. Pretty common for other things to stop working because of the way you organize those callback.
Thanks for this, any way to disable the effect with jumping?
In the script file you can comment out the section with mcJump or mcLanding in it
top tier addon, good job dude
and what is your fov or what do you adjust for that view?
My fov is 110, my hud fov is 1.0 but with Cement's viewmodel changes
TF2 players be like
Never actually played TF2 lmao, I just like it high for some reason. The distortion only really bothers me at 130 horizontal or higher
Немного камера как буд-то залипает при прыжках, а так хорошо смотрится.
Yeah the game's jumping and landing is ******, so the script that detects it causes the smooth animation to snap into places rather than play smoothly.
Does this mod have player and weapon weight inertia?
No, these are just camera animations. I meant I made them to try to imitate the inertia and weight of your character with certain movements, it's just about conveyence. And the animations are only for the listed movements in the description.
I've been playing with this for a week now and i can safely say: it makes me sick, like 'i about to trow up' sick. I don't know why but it does that to me :(
Like the footstep animation? you can comment it out in the script file if you don't like it
alright so, i didn't too much of a difference in the walking, but what makes me feel mostly sick is: the jumping, the leaning and the crouching in that order
edit: honestly i was trying to pay attention to the walking bc i really didn't notice a difference
Yeah I'm trying to fix the jumping and landing because the game cuts my animation off and snaps to neutral, but I'm not sure about the others I can't see how they would cause such an issue for their tameness.
also, is it possible to make Tarkov's running animation? like how the weapon is lowered very far down (praticaly no showing the weapon)
edit: also gonna test out this new update you did. still very nice addon tho
That's entirely up to the weapon running animation for every weapon, so to change that I'd have to modify the animations on the weapon and arm rigs for every weapon, which isn't feasible especially for my lack of experience and the fact that new weapon packs are on the horizon
I don't see any problem with your said cutting animation. I do like this mod and won't miss it anymore... Well the older version. The new 1.1, I haven't tested yet. Hope it is better, but let me see...
I'm about to update it to fix the jumping and landing animation as well so it is smooth. Edit: Updated, the jumping and landing should be much smoother.
New update is much better.
Can I set this walk animation fir the sprint only?
That would require some extra coding. It uses the callback actor_on_footstep, so you'd have to include some extra parameters to maybe check if IsMoveState('mcSprint') or something is true to then make it only work on sprinting.
I like this but the leaning feeling segmented I'm not a fan of, the leaning should be just as smooth as it is in the retail game, in other words, your back can bend smoothly so the animation should reflect that as well. You could just keep the leaning settings/animations the same.
You can comment out that code or delete it if you don't want it. The function actor_on_update with IsMoveState('mcLookout'). There's a few of them, RLookout, LLookout, and both repeated to replay the animation when coming back from lean. All in the .script file you downloaded
Just took a look, it would be cool if you could split the walking and running sets in the script if possible since the walking is way too sharp and shaky for simple foosteps but I do like the running shake.
Much better now.
hey dude, love the addon, just a bit of feedback, the main jog bob, seems too jolty, to match the other more flowing animations, It would feel a little better as a more wavy/flowy than jolty, also when crouching/sneaking, also seems very jolty considering you're slowly sneaking, and maybe the jumping landing could be with being a pinch smoother. as a whole its pretty much there, it just feels like it all needs smoothing out a louch :)
Loved your addon! But, could you tell me which mods or FOV you're using in those examples? Loved them a lot.
I'm using an fov of 110 and hud_fov of 1.0 with Cement's weapon viewmodel addon
Thanks friend, going to use it now.
this has continued to crash my game.
It shouldn't. Are you using RC18/19? Because it's not for U4H8. Also how are you installing it or what other mods are you using, and what does your log file say when it crashes?
