The PK3 file replaces Doom 2's original lame intro tune with something better - a 2 minute high quality MP3 style music track. Track is from Blackrock Driveyards' OST.

I chose this particular song is because its both satisfactorily hyping up a new/continued playthrough, is suitable for pretty much any gameplay mod you load it up with, has a nice initial start that gets straight to the point but isn't too bombastic or overwhelming and also is still muted enough that browsing options and settings isn't annoying. The track's style is also timeless and reserved, meaning it won't grow tiresome even after the 420th time you load up doom again and again.
Its the perfect all-purpose track.

If you want another track, I highly recommend anything that is best described as an "exploration music" track from your favorite video game. Making one yourself is ridiculously easy too:
1. Open the pk3 with IZarc/Peazip/Winrar/whatever and just look what it contains.
2. Now just recreate the folder with the exact name filenames as the ones you saw in the PK3.
3. Take any one sound/music file with the extension WAV, OGG, MP3 or FLAC (doesn't matter) and ensure it has the exact same filename as the track you saw in the PK3.
4. Literally just make a .ZIP file with the Music folder and rename the .ZIP extension to .PK3
5. Success! Its now a fully working title music replacer mod you can load with Doom 2.
I chose OGG because its smallest file size. You can easily convert any sound file to ogg using FreAC (google it) or via online "convert to ogg" websites.
