Greetings General,
As great as Shockwave is, the generals challenges are too tame for me. I've made edits and additions to the General Challenge maps included in Shockwave 1.1 to make them more challenging. All edits have been made with respect for the original challenge design and map asthetic because if you mess with the character of these challenges the fun you're having drops like a brick. For example Kwai now builds from 8 factories instead of 2 with a near infinite amount of starting cash, this combined with me redoing all of the attack teams the ai tries to use (larger companies that include the Reaper and Warmaster, which the AI previously didn't build) results in a lot harder, a lot more authentic and I think a lot more fun Challenge. Along with the new aggression and increased number production facilities comes that most of the facilities have to be constructed first, so this gives one plenty of time to prepare, I found this balances everything very nicely. Here is an example of the increased difficulty for the Tank General:
To install this mod, extract the file into your Zero Hour directory, and AFTER YOU'VE BACKED UP THE ORIGINAL FILE, overwrite it with this one.
THE CHALLENGES ARE MEANT TO BE PLAYED ON 'HARD'. The AI will not function correctly if used on any other difficulty. If you want a true min-maxing of your strategy experience, many reloads and restarts to perfect your strategy, this patch is definitly for you!
I've won every map with leang, laser and salvage gens to test winability. So if you can't win, try again, it is possible to do it. Unless you suck, in which case, this is only for the good players, sorry.
If you win as air against tank I'll give you whatever you want! :) It's just not possible. Also against Laser as Airforce... too OP. Try it if you don't believe. :)
jesus i didnt take too long to prepared the defenses untill the squad of GLA infantry came right out of nowhere and attacked the command center, then when the money on low and just build and supply drop the scud storm already been build.
this one is the hardest you got zero possiblity to prepared anything, only thing to do is to be quick enough to counter it
Let me guess, you played as Demolition. There's an incorrect line in the Demo general's challenge playlist that causes the Laser challenge to loop indefinitely. You'll have to open the file and fix it manually.
I've just did it with air force. Garrison the buildings in the middle of the map full of with rocket launcher infranty and build there a forward base too. (Don't forget to defend the northern part of your main base too.) Don't let to overrun one of your position! Razor bombers will cause some headache later but still it is very possible to defeat Kwai. Cheers!
Anyone else is suffering from technical difficulties only and only! against Air Force General (Granger)? The game exits very suddenly. I tried saving the game process step by step, minimize the resolution, different generals but it all didn't work. I don't think so that the overheating hardver (this is what the error message typically says) would be the problem. Anyone got the same issue? Any kind of solution for that?
Btw. the patch is very cool it beats after 10 years! All of my respect to the developer team!

How about rework for Special Gen GC because it is too OP for the INI's and map size to win

Easy is Ez. Maybe I'm just a noobie to put structures in elevated terrains so my bad.. Forgive me when I only play Medium :P
When I capture the nuclear silo of the Nuclear General, it won't launch the nuclear missle... please fix this, thanks!

Does this patch help the crashing problem I've (seems to also happen to a few other people) been having with General Townes (laser general)?
If not, I'll still look into this since there's finally a challenging general. :)
Well, is this include all not added GC, like Leang, Fai, and Deathstrike Challenges?

I know the challenge should have end at 7 or 8, but I got stuck at 6, when I clicked continue, it restarted the 6 again. Can anyone explain this ?

I enjoyed this. Even boring generals in challenge mode become awesome. I really want an improve ai in shockwave mod and this is it.
IDK why 5 nukes from nuke general and 3 particle canon from laser are stuck though. Thankfully they keep me busy with their waves.
